Darby Camp was only a toddler when she first appeared in commercials and print ads with her mom and sister. Naturally, her acting skills developed, and by the time she was eight, her talent was realized to be the best on-screen.

In 2017, Camp portrayed Chloe McKenzie in two seasons of “Big Little Lies,” an award-winning HBO series. The following year, she starred in Netflix's “The Christmas Chronicles,” followed by its sequel, “The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two,” in 2020.

CAMP STARS IN “CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG”

More prominent roles came in 2021 as Camp took on the big screen to portray a loving fur mom, Emily Elizabeth, in “Clifford the Big Red Dog,” a story she has followed since her younger years. Camp said:

“My MawMaw and Nana had always read the books to me because my parents had copies still laying around their houses from when they were young. I am a huge dog lover, so of course, I was drawn to books about a giant dog!”

The role also opened Camp's eyes to real issues kids experience, such as bullying and being ignored by others. “It encouraged me to talk about it with others, and it's interesting how people deal with their hurt in different ways,” she said.

When she's not busy filming, Camp enjoys spending time with friends or doing art projects at home. She also plays the guitar, skateboards, and cheers in her high school.

She is also a positive influence amongst others in her community and is an active church youth group member who participates in mission projects. She said:

“I think it's important to be a loyal friend and be a good neighbor. I love taking care of my neighbor's dog when they need help, and I love having a place for my friends to come over, feel comfortable and welcome.”

STARRING IN “GASLIT”

Camp's most recent project is in the Watergate drama series “Gaslit,” alongside Betty Gilpin, Shea Whigham, Julia Roberts, Sean Penn, and Dan Stevens. Camp stars as Marty Mitchell, the daughter of John Mitchell (Penn) and Martha Mitchell (Roberts).

“Gaslit” centers on Martha's story, an Arkansan socialite whose husband is President Nixon's confidante and Attorney General. Despite her position in the political world, the brave character still becomes a whistleblower regarding Nixon's involvement in the Watergate scandal.

Roberts, known for her films, “My Best Friend's Wedding," "Pretty Woman," "Sleeping with the Enemy,” and “Notting Hill,” is thrilled to take on the role with Penn, her long-time friend, who is also an award-winning actor. The show's promising cast undoubtedly sets higher expectations for the production.
