Met Gala 2022 - Some of Best Celebrity Looks From the Red Carpet
Social media has been buzzing with the most iconic fashion looks from this year's Met Gala. Some of the best-dressed celebrities include a powerhouse of women, from the likes of Billie Eilish to Kim Kardashian.
Every year, fashion enthusiasts, designers, and celebrities anticipate the Met Gala, where gorgeous gowns make their way through the red carpet in adherence to the event's theme.
This year, the show makers chose the theme Gilded Glamour, which is open to interpretation by the attendees. However, most people associate the theme with glittering streetwise looks and archival vintage.
Most celebrities opted for vintage pieces instead of newly sewn dresses. The red carpet was crawling with extravagant clothing, sparkling jewelry, and lengthy trains during the event, and hours later, social media was blowing up with some of the best looks of the night.
Those who made it to the iconic outfits list are Billie Eilish, Kendall Jenner, Blake Lively, and Kim Kardashian, whose dress was not hers but owned by a movie icon from the '50s.
BILLIE EILISH MET GALA LOOK FITTED THE THEME
Billie Eilish had only been to the Met Gala once before, but she ensured that her chosen outfit was in tune with the theme. The award-winning singer chose a regal Gucci ensemble by Alessandro Michele that was crafted from upcycled materials.

According to Gucci, the "Ocean Eyes" singer was in a "Duchesse satin corseted gown with lace underlay and gathered Duchesse satin skirt with padded bustle and a tonal Duchesse corsage." Her ivory gown was paired with a black choker with embroidery and beige platform shoes. Eilish said:
“I just wanted to be as eco-friendly as possible.”
In the Vogue Livestream, she noted her gown was made of "all existing materials, so we didn't have to waste a bunch of stuff – this all already existed."

Last year, Eilish stunned in a peach Oscar de la Renta ball gown made with tulle details. The corset dress had a long train and was significantly grunge-inspired. She opted for a blonde bob hairstyle to complete her look.
WHAT DID KENDALL JENNER WEAR TO THE MET GALA?
Kendall Jenner was also among those who struck the attention of many, especially with her incredible eyebrow transformation. The "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star bleached her brows to obtain a more avant-garde look.

BLAKE LIVELY'S MET GALA DRESS TURNED OUT TO BE A TRANSFORMER
Another A-lister who embodied Gilded Glamour was Blake Lively, with a dress that transformed into a piece of art while on the red carpet.
The "Gossip Girl" alum arrived in a tri-tone copper Versace gown with a short train and matching gloves. The dress paid tribute to the iconic Statue of Liberty but had more in store for viewers as Lively walked halfway through the Met steps.
The gorgeous beige body-hugging dress had thousands of crystals sewn on it and was paired with a white fur coat.

The gown unraveled an even longer train when she stopped. Her gloves also matched the colors, and she accessorized with a tiara and dangling earrings. The actress said:
“The draping [represents] the Statue of Liberty, plus the crown which has seven tiers, the Statue Liberty has seven rays representing the sun's rays, and then also the seven seas and continents which represents welcomeness, inclusivity, and freedom.”

KIM KARDASHIAN'S DRESS WAS NOT HERS
Kim Kardashian wore one of the most talked-about dresses that walked the Met. However, Marilyn Monroe pre-owned the gown and caused a stir when she wore it to sing "Happy Birthday" to former President John F. Kennedy in 1962.
"Nowadays, everyone wears sheer dresses, but back then, that was not the case," Kardashian said. "In a sense, it's the original naked dress. That's why it was so shocking."
The gorgeous beige body-hugging dress had thousands of crystals sewn on it and was paired with a white fur coat. Kardashian completed her look by pulling back her blonde hair and opting for a dark makeup palette. Although simple, the beauty mogul looked as stunning as ever.
