Hank Jr. is the son of the famous country music pioneer Hank Williams Sr. He lost his father at three but became a country performer with the help of his mother.

At eight, he made his stage debut and first appearance at Nashville's famed Grand Ole Opry at 11. When he was 15, he had his first Top 5 hit on the country charts, in which he did a cover of his father's song.

He carried his father's legacy through music and performed to sold-out crowds and on national television as a teenager. However, in the 1980s, he achieved stardom after trying to commit suicide in 1974.

SEPARATION AND RECONCILIATION

Hank Sr. married his wife Audrey Mae Sheppard in 1944, but their marriage was declared illegal because it happened too soon after Audrey's separation from her first husband.

They divorced four years later but remarried after Hank Jr. was born in 1949. However, their relationship was not stable, and they divorced again before Hank Sr. remarried in 1952.
