Why Eva Mendes Has Not Appeared in a Movie since 2014

Actress, designer, and model Eva Mendes has not been in a movie since 2014. However, according to her latest announcement, the "Miami" actress is set to return to screens.

On May 10, 2022, the actress was on the set of "The View" show with Sunny Hostin and Whoopi Goldberg, where she talked about her business and recent projects.

Eva Mendes revealed that even though she was not acting, she was still working on other things. The actress further stated that she is very picky with her acting roles now that she has kids.

Mendes told her fans to expect her back on the big screen soon as part of her revelations on the show. The "Hitch" actress said she is looking forward to participating in special projects.

WHY EVA MENDES HASN'T APPEARED IN A MOVIE SINCE 2014

The last time fans saw Mendes in any movie was when she starred beside her husband Ryan Gosling in "Lost River." Before 2014, Mendes, who took time out to focus on parenting, was known for her roles in "Ghost Rider," "Fast Five," "The Other Guys," and more.

When a concerned fan asked the actress when they would see her in movies, she informed the Instagram follower that she would be a part of something worthwhile when the time came because being a mother limits her choices.

HOW MANY CHILDREN EVA MENDES HAS?

In September 2014, Gosling and Mendes welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Esmeralda Amada. Over a year after they welcomed their daughter, Gosling revealed that his ideal woman was Mendes.

The "La La Land" actor and his leading lady welcomed their second daughter Amada Lee in April 2016. Shortly after she was born, there were rumors that the couple had a secret wedding.

However, the couple, who are always private about their personal lives, never replied to the rumors. In January 2017, he paid tribute to Mendes at the Golden Globes for holding the family front while he pursued his career.

Despite having busy schedules and raising two children, the couple makes time for themselves as they go on date nights when Gosling, the chef in the house, does not cook.

The actress, who became a first-time mother in her 40s, is glad she can spend time with her kids and is involved in their upbringing. She said:

"I'm an actress, I've designed clothes, I've done a number of different things. But this is the most creative thing, is to create life with them."

Just like her mother was a strong presence in her life until she was about eight or nine, Mendes aims to be a solid and positive presence in her children's lives.

WHEN CAN WE SEE EVA MENDES ACTING AGAIN?

Eva Mendes has promised her fans that they will see her soon in a movie. However, she would be accepting only family-friendly roles. She said:

"I have such a short list of what I will do. [...] I don't want to do violence, I don't want to do sexuality…the list is short."

The mother of two is looking forward to acting in clean movies. She also expressed her interest in working with Disney as long as they would have her.
