Hilary Duff Spoke About Her Struggles With Body Acceptance - What did she say?
Former Disney star Hilary Duff posed nude for a magazine cover shoot and opened up about her struggles with body acceptance and women's standards in Hollywood.
It is no secret that being talented is not always enough to make it big in Hollywood, especially for actresses. Hilary Duff knows it firsthand, and she opened up about it for her Women's Health interview.
Apart from posing nude, the "Lizzie McGuire" alum candidly spoke about battling an eating disorder and dealing with people's opinions about her body.

HILARY DUFF'S EATING DISORDER – WHAT HAPPENED?
People started sharing rude comments about Duff's physique when she was 16, even though her body was still changing and developing. It was hard as she thought she had to be skinny because of her acting career.
They would say she was too heavy, but when she started losing weight, they would say she had done something to her face. Duff shed several pounds between 17 and 19 due to a "horrifying" eating disorder.

That was when she began to really be aware of what others said about her body and care for how she looked in pictures. She would only eat steamed veggies and grilled or broiled chicken with no sides.
Duff was also touring, and since she didn't eat enough nutrients, she constantly felt "so run down." As an adult, she regretted those years because she was unhappy.
HOW DOES HILARY DUFF FEEL ABOUT HER BODY NOW?
Eventually, Duff learned that cutting carbs and sugar made her feel deprived. Instead, she started counting macros and ensuring she ate the correct quantity of protein, fat, and carbs.
Following that lifestyle has been "awesome." Apart from making her happier, eating every three hours gave her enough energy to be with her kids and keep up a steady pace throughout the day.
The "Haunting of Sharon Tate" actress gained respect for her body over the years because it took her everywhere she needed to go and helped her create her family. Hilary Duff's children also helped her get past her body-image issues. She said:
"I'm proud of my body. I'm proud that it's produced three children for me. I've gotten to a place of being peaceful with the changes my body has gone through."
Duff added that celebrities get help from makeup artists and professional photographers to achieve stunning looks, so the final result in magazine covers is not precisely what they look like regularly.
Still, Duff has sought help from her therapist. She committed to not missing any session for months because she feels better when the therapy is over.
HOW MANY CHILDREN DOES HILARY DUFF HAVE?
Speaking of Hilary Duff's children, she is currently raising three. Her oldest is Luca, born in March 2012 to former NHL player Mike Comrie. In January 2017, Duff started dating singer-songwriter Matthew Koma.
Their first kid, Banks, was born in October 2018. Hilary Duff and Matthew Koma's youngest child, Mae, joined the brood in March 2021. What a beautiful family!
