In a touching Instagram caption, Pete Davidson said that he had no idea what he was doing when he got on the show at the age of 20. He shared the message through his creative partner Dave Sirus' account.

Davidson said he literally grew up in front of the viewers' eyes. He thanked Lorne Michaels and the rest of the people behind the show for the opportunity and for allowing him to host SNL.

FOR HOW LONG WAS PETE DAVIDSON ON SNL?

Davidson, who joined SNL in 2014, said he would not have been where he is now if not for the show. He continued in the emotional Instagram post:

"I appreciate you guys always having my back and sticking up for me even when that wasn’t the popular opinion."

Joining the longtime comedy sketch show during the show's 40th season, Davidson was the first-ever person born in the '90s to join SNL.

WHO HAS PETE DATED?

Like other celebrities, Davidson has dated several high-profile female stars, but pop singer Ariana Grande stands out among them. The former couple had a whirlwind romance four years ago.

After splitting from their long-term partners, the Grammy-nominated singer and the comedian briefly dated in 2018. They immediately got engaged but called off their romance four months later.

The split was a mutual decision, and the relationship was bad timing. Davidson said his breakup with Grande was "nobody's business."

Instead of being heartbroken, Davidson poked fun at his relationship drama with the "Dangerous Woman" singer. He then called Grande a wonderful, strong person.

As for Grande, she released hit songs shortly after the breakup, which addressed her past lovers, including Davidson and late rapper Mac Miller.

Davidson made headlines again after he sparked dating rumors with reality star Kim Kardashian following their shared screen time on SNL in October 2021.

In March 2022, the pair went Instagram official, with the reality TV star posting photos of them cozied up together. She donned a lavish outfit while Davidson wore simpler attire.

The following month, the sweet duo became "red carpet official" as they graced the White House Correspondents' Dinner together in Washington D.C. and other high-profile guests.

WHAT DISEASE DOES PETE HAVE?

Davidson's skyrocketing fame and newfound love have been successful, but this doesn't mean that his life is perfect. "The King of Staten Island" star has struggled with Crohn's disease for a long time.

Diagnosed with the chronic condition when he was a teen, Davidson revealed that he would suffer intense abdominal pain and sometimes could not get out of bed.

While there's no cure for the disease, he admitted to using cannabis, commonly known as marijuana, as one of his coping mechanisms to relieve stomach pains.

Besides Crohn's disease, the "Big Time Adolescence" star has been open about his mental health struggles, which he has been dealing with since he was nine years old.
