From June 2 until the 5th, 2022, UK royals gathered to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee for four days. The late monarch's grandson, Prince Harry, and his wife, Duchess Meghan, flew into the UK from the US for the celebrations.

The couple brought their children, Archie and Lilibet, to spend quality time with the late Queen Elizabeth. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex watched the Royal Air Force (RAF) fly past from the Major General's Office.

The couple's children weren't seen with their parents at the time but were expected to attend June 3's Service of Thanksgiving at St. Paul's Cathedral. Meghan and Harry's attendance was their first time in the UK together at a royal event since March 2020.

That year, the pair stepped back from their senior royal roles and then relocated to the US. At the National Service of Thanksgiving, the couple was greeted with cheers in London as they entered St. Paul's Cathedral.

The Queen failed to attend the service due to mobility issues. On arrival, the Sussexes were followed by Harry's father, King Charles, and his wife, Queen Consort Camilla, including his brother, Prince William, and his wife, Duchess Kate.

The day before the celebrations began, it was revealed that Prince Andrew would no longer be attending. A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said the royal tested positive for COVID-19 during a routine test.

The monarch pulled out of the second event of the four-day celebrations, the Epsom Derby, opting to watch it from her television in Windsor because of ill health. Harry and his wife were also going to miss the Platinum Jubilee Pageant on the event's last day.

The couple also missed the Platinum Party on the previous day, held at the Palace. Instead, they allegedly had a special private celebration of Lilibet's first birthday.

One of the things most people hoped for during this visit to the UK by the Sussexes was that Harry and William would rekindle their tense relationship. However, reports stated that mending the rift was not on the cards for the pair, with a source saying:

“At the moment, it does not look likely that Harry and Meghan and William and Kate will meet up separately during the Jubilee celebrations.”

The insider revealed that such a meeting was not "in the diary at the moment." It meant William and Kate's children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, would not be able to bond with their two cousins.

However, the late Queen was finally able to meet little Lilibet, born in the US. According to Page Six, when the Sussexes arrived in London on June 1, 2022, they officially took the little girl to meet the monarch.

On June 3, 2022, the couple and their children allegedly spent the evening with the late Queen at Windsor Castle. When Lilibet celebrated her birthday the following day, she received loving messages from her Royal Family members.
