Britney Spears's mother is who? Lynne Spears made news recently after reaching out to her newly-married daughter on social media, despite their tumultuous relationship due to the pop star's 13-year conservatorship.

On June 9, 2022, Britney Spears married her longtime boyfriend, Sam Asghari, in an intimate wedding ceremony in the couple's Los Angeles home. Britney Spears's mother, Lynne Spears, congratulated her daughter's new marriage.

Despite their strained relationship, Lynne commented on one of Britney's Instagram photos. Britney's wedding was a "dream," she said, and having the event at home made it "sentimental and special."

On the other hand, Britney never responded to her mother's compliments on Instagram. Many followers were piqued by Lynne's involvement in her daughter's life outside of being her mother.

Lynne is a former grade school teacher and a published author. She also ran a childcare center in Kentwood, Louisiana, where she raised her three children with her ex-husband Jamie, whom she married in 1976.

Before Lynne could divorce Jamie in 2002, she indicated that she felt responsible for Britney's struggles since she was unprepared to assist Britney on her journey to fame. Lynne said she was "devastated," adding:

"I didn't raise my children to have Hollywood careers. This all just exploded in my face, and big dreams became big headaches."

Britney's mental health crisis in 2007 received widespread public attention. Lynne opened up about being taken aback by both the positive and terrible aspects of her daughter's celebrity lifestyle.

Lynne compared Britney's prominence to a "honeymoon phase," stating that while being famous was excellent, there was a dark side to her daughter's international fame that she and Jamie were unprepared for.

However, Lynne filed to become part of Britney's conservatorship. Lynne reportedly filed a request in May 2019 to receive special notice of all changes and matters in her daughter's case.

Lynne's request for special notices was denied. In July 2020, she filed the same appeal for her daughter's lawsuit. According to a source from ET, Britney asked her mother to be part of her conservatorship.

Britney believed Lynne wanted to assist her, particularly in gaining financial freedom. According to the source, the mother-daughter duo had its ups and downs, but they are now closer than ever.
