Violet Moon Howey Is Sarah Shahi's Daughter with Steve Howey —Facts about Their Child
"Something Borrowed" actor Steve Howey and "Person of Interest" actress Sarah Shahi's daughter, Violet Moon Howey, was born at the couple's home in California. After that, the former couple realized home births were not for everybody.
Violet Moon Howey is not the only child of her parents as she has other siblings, all of whom were also delivered at home because their parents did not want hospital births.
Unfortunately, her parents, who rarely post pictures of her and her siblings on social media, are no longer together. Here are all the details about Violet Moon Howey.

FACTS ABOUT VIOLET MOON
Violet Moon was born on March 1, 2015, to celebrity parents Shahi and Howey. However, she was not the only child her parents had on that day, as she had a twin brother named Knox Blue.
It was interesting how their parents discovered that she was a twin. Shahi already knew she was pregnant but needed confirmation from a doctor.
So the actress, her husband, and their older son, William Wolf, born on July 8, 2009, went for an ultrasound, where the doctor had a surprising reaction while he was doing her scan.
As Shahi grew concerned about the doctor's reaction, Howey, who understood what had happened, also started acting weird. Shahi was confused as she did not know what was causing the commotion. Finally, the doctor informed her that she was expecting twins.
VIOLET MOON WAS WELCOMED VIA A HOME BIRTH
As soon as they found out Shahi was pregnant, the couple's attention shifted to their babies. Violet and Knox were born at their Sherman Oaks, California, home in 2015.
However, Violet was born two hours earlier than her twin brother, Knox. Before the twins' births, the couple had felt a little more prepared for what was in store.
Shahi and Howey had opted for a home birth after watching a documentary called "The Business of Being Born." They also disliked the systems in place for hospital births. Howey said:
"You have more control during a home birth, and with hospital births, there is a system in place, and we didn't like the whole system."
He further revealed that Shahi did not like the idea of a Caesarian section or being injected with epidurals. However, her home birth almost took a tragic turn.
Howey revealed that he helped deliver their twins. However, he did it with the aid of a doula, a midwife, and a licensed ob/gyn.
In a podcast, Shahi revealed that when Violet was delivered, she came out blue, not breathing, limp, and the umbilical cord was wrapped around her daughter's neck twice.
The labor was quick for Shahi, and as Howey received their daughter, he said his life began flashing before his eyes. Violet's birth differed from the birth of their first son, Wolf, who had come out kicking and screaming. In Violet's situation, Howey started pulling off the cord, but it was too tight around her neck.

As the actor started panicking, the midwife took Violet from him, started wiping her face, and placed her on Shahi's chest. The doula who saw how panicked Howey said to him:
"Steve, everything is fine; she's still getting life; the umbilical cord is attached. This is ok, this is fine."
The midwife kept cleaning Violet up and comforting her, but nothing was happening while their ob/gyn, Dr. Stuart Fischbein, checked on Knox and the actress.
After Dr. Fischbein was done, he focused his attention on Violet. He began flicking the bottom of her foot, and she emitted a little cry.
Once she cried, Howey revealed that color came back to her skin and the purplish-blue hue went from red to orange to light pink. Howey and Shahi's experience with Violet and Knox's births taught them that home births were not for everybody.
THE MEANING OF VIOLET MOON HOWEY'S NAME
The former couple's three children have unusual names: Wolf, Violet, and Knox. Howey revealed that some people loved their monikers and others hated them, but he and Shahi did not want them to have common names.
Howey said they chose Wolf for their eldest son because he wanted an animal name. In Knox's case, the former couple liked it because it was "old-timey."
Both of Violet's names are special. Howey and Shahi initially liked Ruby and Olive because they loved the idea of naming their girl after a color, but Howey eventually came up with Violet.
The girl's middle name, Moon, is the English translation of Shahi's mom's name. Moon was supposed to be Violet's first name, but Howey and Shahi felt it was better as a middle name.
ARE VIOLET MOON'S PARENTS STILL TOGETHER?
Violet's parents are the famous "Sex/Life" star Sarah Shahi and "Shameless" actor Steve Howey. They tied the knot in Las Vegas in February 2009 but sadly could not make it last forever.
In May 2020, Howey filed for divorce, and they officially parted ways in January 2021 while remaining publicly amicable about their split. During their 12-year marriage, they welcomed three children, including their only daughter Violet Moon Howey.
After her divorce Shahi started dating her "Sex/Life" co-star Adam Demos although it's not known when the pair first got together.
The first time they appeared together on social media was in September 2020. They made their relationship Instagram official on New Year's Eve 2020, and she described him as one of the best people she'd met six months later.
