Arnold Schwarzenegger's eldest daughter Katherine Schwarzenegger met her 11-year-older husband, Chris Pratt, in church.

Pratt, a Minnesota native, revealed to Us Magazine in June 2019 that fate brought them together, adding there were a lot of connections too.

"We met at church. It was a lot of kismet and a lot of connections, but that was where we met," he divulged. The pair began dating in 2018, and Katherine became close to his son Jack whom they included in their date outings, an insider told People in 2019:

"Katherine is like a big kid and loves doing activities with Jack. She loves that Chris is a dad. Seeing Chris with Jack made Katherine positive from early on that Chris is ‘the one.’"

Pratt announced his engagement to the "Maverick and Me" author in January 2019, and six months later, the lovebirds secretly tied the knot on June 8, 2019.

The intimate nuptials took place at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California, with only 60 guests in attendance. Katherine's father and mother, Maria Shriver, attended the wedding.

The bride donned a white gown, and the groom opted for a classic black tuxedo. A source revealed to the Us Weekly that the ceremony was marvelous:

"Everything about the wedding was gorgeous. They had beautiful weather and the perfect setup. Everyone seemed happy and honored to be part of the wedding and Chris and Katherine's love story."

A day after the big day, Katherine posted an image from the wedding on Instagram, showing her and her newly wedded husband glaring into each other's eyes while holding hands. She wrote a lengthy message paying tribute to the momentous day:

"Yesterday was the best day of our lives! We became husband and wife in front of God, our families, and those we love. It was intimate, moving, and emotional. We feel so blessed to begin this new chapter of our lives."

While this is Katherine's first marriage, it is a second for the award-winning actor, who was previously married to actress Anna Faris.

The exes wed in 2009 and divorced in 2018 after eight years of marriage. They welcomed their only child together, Jack, in 2012.

KATHERINE & PRATT WERE BOTH KEEN TO START A FAMILY

Sources previously disclosed to People that Pratt and Katherine looked forward to "expanding their family as soon as possible" after getting hitched.

In this case, they were not the only ones excited about the possibility of another new addition to the family. Katherine's world-famous father, Arnold, previously admitted to Extra that while he was enthusiastic for the duo to have kids, it was still their decision on when that would happen:

"I don't push it because I know it's going to happen eventually. It's up to Chris and her when they want to do that. I'm looking forward to it."

Moreover, an insider told People that Pratt initially became attracted to the California native's strong spirituality and her bond with his family. The source added the pair were compatible and had many things in common:

"Family is very important to both of them, as well as their spirituality."

That said, ten months into their marriage, People reported in April 2020 that Pratt and Katherine were expecting their first child together. Their daughter Lyla arrived in August 2020.

An insider revealed to Entertainment Tonight that Pratt was present during the birth, adding, "Giving birth was such a special moment for Katherine. She was overcome with emotions when she first held her daughter and was so thankful to have Chris there."

Following the arrival of Lyla, Katherine's family, her parents, and siblings, Christina and Christopher, paid her a visit at her home. Her mother, Shriver, later returned the following day along with others.

ARNOLD IS A PROUD GRANDAD

While on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" in April 2021, her former husband said it was terrific being a grandfather to their daughter Katherine and Pratt's first baby. However, Arnold admitted, "The only thing is it makes me feel old."

He complimented the then-newlyweds on a job well done as parents. "It's a beautiful baby, Lyla, and I'm very proud of Katherine and Chris," said the former Governor of California.

The father of four lives on a farm with animals and has a donkey named Lulu, a miniature horse called Whiskey, and dogs named Cherry, Noodle, and Dutch.

He revealed that the then-eight-month-old Lyla had already visited him on several occasions and got to meet the animals. Asked if when he babysits, he changes her diapers, Arnold said no, revealing that his daughter is an anxious mom:

"Whenever you touch the baby, she says, ‘Oh my god, don't hold it like this.’ I said, ‘Katherine, come on. I held enough children in my hands. I know exactly what I'm doing. I'm an expert in that stuff.’ And then she freaks out."

When the "Terminator" actor made another appearance on the ABC chat show, he admitted that being a grandad had perks. "It is the easiest thing to be a grandfather," said Arnold, explaining that whenever Lyla comes over, he spends time with her for an hour or two, and then she leaves with her parents, giving him time to rest.

He praised his son-in-law Pratt, saying he was a good man, adding that he loved and was proud of his daughter. Arnold said the house lit up whenever the couple came over with their child.

KATHERINE & PRATT 'BLESSED' ARNOLD WITH A SECOND GRANDCHILD

Soon after Katherine and Pratt welcomed their daughter Lyla, they "blessed" Arnold with a second grandchild. In May 2022, the brunette beauty announced on social media that she and her husband welcomed their second daughter on May 21, named Eloise:

"We are so excited to announce the birth of our second daughter, Eloise Christina Schwarzenegger Pratt. We feel beyond blessed and grateful. Love, Katherine and Chris."

Baby Eloise's arrival marks her parents' third wedding anniversary as they celebrated their special day in June 2022. Katherine, New York's bestselling author, commemorated the occasion on Instagram with heartfelt photos of the couple.

"Happy anniversary, my love angel face. I love you more every day and feel so lucky to live life with you. Thanks for being the best husband, partner, and father ever," Katherine wrote to her adoring spouse.

She posted the first photo of her infant child and several other images, with one showing Pratt cooking in the kitchen, captioning the post, "May & June," alongside a heart emoji.

Katherine also celebrated Father's Day in June 2022, posting pictures of her husband and father wearing t-shirts and holding cigars while beaming for the snap.

The post also featured other images with one throwback of her and her dad when she was young and another showing Pratt with her daughters.

"My guys! Happy Father's Day to my wonderful dad/fun-filled Opa and to my amazing and loving husband. I am so grateful. We are all so lucky to have you both!" Katherine wrote.
