Lisa Marie Presley 'Felt Disposable' after Marrying Michael Jackson — Mom Priscilla Was against Their Romance
Lisa Marie Presley's young life was subjected to high public scrutiny by virtue of her legendary father, Elvis Presley. In addition, her exciting love life with the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, was also heavily examined in the spotlight.
When Elvis Presley's daughter and sole heir, Lisa Marie Presley, was born, she became a celebrity baby, gaining public attention even as an infant. As she grew older, the spotlighted scrutiny only intensified.
However, one stunning and memorable period in her life was when she turned 20 and walked down the aisle. Lisa Marie and her mother, Priscilla Presley, managed to pull off an ultra-private ceremony that had the press stunned for months.

No intel got out that Lisa Marie intended to walk down the aisle. Her groom, Daniel Keough, was also unknown then, making it easy to pack it all under the radar.
On the day of Lisa Marie's wedding in 1988, about ten loved ones from her inner circle gathered together. The simple occasion was held at the Celebrity Center International of the Church of Scientology in West Hollywood.

The couple exchanged their vows and were out of the venue within seven minutes. While the press clamored for information on one of the most cherished events in Pop culture history, Priscilla's publicist Paul Bloch, simply shared:
"Lisa, 20, married musician Daniel "Danny" Keough, 23, her boyfriend for the past three years. Priscilla said, 'I am thrilled for Lisa Marie. Danny is a great guy, and I couldn't be happier for the two of them."

Bloch further shared in his address that Lisa Marie and Daniel intended to honeymoon at an undisclosed location for three months. Six days after the secret wedding, Priscilla revealed through Bloch that her daughter was expecting her first child with Danny.
Lisa Marie and Danny were married from 1988 to 1994, within which they welcomed two children. The couple's kids are Benjamin and Riley Keough. Lisa Marie's first marriage ended after six years, but her relationship with music legend Michael Jackson was the most shocking.

Lisa Marie met Jackson when she was seven years old. This was two years before her father passed away. The pair would not reconnect again until her adult years when they struck up a friendship.
The songstress and the King of Pop were friends before her marriage with Danny crashed, and according to her, Jackson was much more laid back than his public image depicted. She insinuated that it was easy for her to fall in love with him.
After her first marriage ended, Lisa Marie started seeing Jackson, and within 20 days, she and the "Thriller" crooner walked down the aisle. This was shocking to the public, including her mom, who disapproved of the match.

Speaking about how they bonded, Lisa Marie stated that Jackson was genuine with her. She noted that he immediately talked about the notion of the public about him and what the truth was.
This had been amid Jackson's sexual assault issues. She recalled how he confided in her, and she painted a picture of being his protector. Lisa Marie noted that she wanted to shield Jackson from public scrutiny and fell deeply in love with him.
On May 26, 1994, Jackson and Lisa Marie eloped to La Vega in the Dominican Republic, where they tied the knot. The couple said their vows in a 15-minute ceremony, dressed in all-black garbs.

Jackson was reportedly accessorized with a bolero jacket, cowboy belt, and a flamenco hat. Jackson's pal and celebrity autobiographer, John Taraborrelli, would later reveal that the groom said he felt empty at the wedding.
This was because his mother, Katherine Jackson, was absent. However, he knew it had to be a low-key ceremony because of the press. While Lisa Marie was more than happy to walk down the aisle again, her mother had her doubts.
Priscilla was worried about history repeating itself because she had once been in that position. She likened Jackson's status to that of her late ex-spouse, Elvis. Priscilla noted she understood how charming Jackson was.

She recalled that Lisa Marie grew up both in her father's iconic estate, Graceland, and Jackson's famed property, Neverland. She stated that Lisa Marie experienced the pop icon's child-like aura and gravitated toward him. Priscilla added:
"Maybe she saw something of Elvis in Michael. As her mom though I was concerned as I could see it could be a disaster."

The public thought the marriage was a farce, probably due to how Lisa Marie moved on from her first. Years later, she emphasized that she was indeed in love but was unsure about Jackson's intentions. Lisa Marie stated:
"I can't tell you what his intentions were, but I can tell you I absolutely fell in love with him and fell into this whole thing which I'm not proud of now."
THEIR UNION FELL APART

Lisa Marie thought her marriage with Jackson was a love match, and rightfully so, because of the bond they shared. She said she would usually feel like a "lioness" protecting him.
She described herself as naive and that she never thought he could be out to use her. The singer claimed that Jackson's mind constantly worked, and he veered into being manipulative. The marriage lasted two years; towards the end, Jackson was often gone for weeks.
Once speaking with Oprah Winfrey, Lisa Marie shared that Jackson was not a bad person, but he did not know any better. She stated that she felt "disposable" around him, the same way she felt around her father.

The last straw in their marriage came after Jackson appeared to have spoken negatively about Elvis on TV. Lisa Marie demanded a divorce and sunk into a depression. She acknowledged leaving her first marriage too quickly and referred to it as one of her biggest mistakes.
Jackson and Lisa Marie ended their marriage in 1996, but according to her, it left her with a stigma. Lisa Marie got out of it, and the duo was said to have dated on and off and remained friends until Jackson died in 2009.
