Bride Finds Out Wedding Dress Is Buried with Her Grandma Weeks before the Ceremony
When a groom and his soon-to-be brother-in-law mess things up, they race against time to make things right.
Planning a wedding is undoubtedly one of the most complicated aspects of getting married. It takes a lot of effort and stress for anyone assigned that task. Due to how important that day is for the groom, bride, and their families, there is always hope and prayers that nothing goes wrong. But, sadly, "perfect" is a challenging thing to achieve.
Nonetheless, the question of what could possibly go wrong got another twist when TikTok user Kasia Pierga, the owner of Kasia's Bridal and Special Occasion Boutique in Chicago, Illinois, narrated a wild story on her page @kasias_bridal.

In a clip with over 5 million views, Kasia narrated how she got a disturbing call from a groom who wanted her boutique to reorder his bride's wedding dress. Kasia sensed something was wrong because the groom had no comprehensive information about the dress but was desperate to reorder it.
At first, she was a bit suspicious until the groom told her the bride's name and Kasia found the order. Then, she thought maybe the groom was confused, and the dress needed alterations instead of a new one.
However, the groom remained adamant that he wanted a new one. So Kasia called the manufacturer to ask if a new dress could be made in time for the wedding, which was five months away.

Sadly, the $2,300 wedding gown was customized, and according to the manufacturers, they wouldn't be able to make a new one in time for the couple's wedding.
Upon hearing this, the groom broke down crying, which alarmed Kasia, who wondered what was happening. The groom subsequently handed the phone to someone else who identified himself as the bride's brother. The brother then explained what happened to the original dress and why they were trying to reorder a new one.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ORIGINAL DRESS?
According to the bride's brother, after the bride got the original dress, she gave it to her mother for safe keeping. The bride's mom then placed the gown in her rarely used closet.
However, when their grandmother died, the bride's brother and the groom were sent to the closet to get the grandmother's wedding dress; she wanted to be buried in it since her husband was also buried in the tuxedo he wore at their wedding. According to Kasia, the bride's brother said:
"Grandpa was buried in his tuxedo, so grandma wanted to be buried in her own wedding dress. Mom told me and my future brother-in-law to go get grandma's wedding dress out of the closet. So we did. We didn't notice just to get the box. We took the bag."
When the groom and his future brother-in-law got to the closet, they saw a dress hanging and believed it was the one they came to retrieve. But, unknown to them, grandma's actual wedding gown was in a box on the closet floor.
In what was fast becoming an unfortunate turn of events, they had given the funeral home the wrong wedding gown. When Kasia asked why no one noticed the grandma was wearing a new wedding dress at her funeral, the brother explained that the casket was closed.

The family opted for that arrangement because grandma was seriously ill when she died, and they did not want people to see her the way she looked.
The groom's brother explained that their mother realized the gown was missing two weeks after the burial and that they were trying to replace the dress without the bride knowing about what happened. Kasia declared:
"So no one knew that this wedding dress is on grandma, the bride's wedding dress is on grandma, So now we're on a mad hunt to get this dress because bride does not know that this dress is buried six feet under with grandma."
THE FAMILY COMES CLEAN
Since the manufacturers could not remake the dress due to time constraints, Kasia started thinking of ways to help the pair out. She contemplated using a sample dress to make something similar to their original wedding gown; however, the dress was not altered yet.
To do this, Kasia would have to ask the bride to make an appointment, which meant she would realize something had happened to her wedding dress.
Eventually, the family realized they would have to come clean to the bride because there was no way she would not notice something had gone seriously wrong with her wedding dress.

Even Kasia felt relieved because the whole process of hiding things from her client stressed her out, although they were all doing it to make the bride happy.
Finally, after 24 hours, she received a call from the family and spoke with the bride. As it turns out, the bride actually wanted the gown altered to a bigger size because she had gotten pregnant.
Nevertheless, because the wedding gown was made mermaid style, there was a limit to how much it could have been altered. Thankfully, the bride was not upset about the mix-up with her wedding dress. In fact, she was happy to choose another one.

She also did not feel angry that her grandmother got buried in her wedding dress either. Instead, the bride reacted calmly to the news and believed it was probably meant to be that way.
According to Kasia, the grandma had initially told the bride not to get a mermaid-style wedding gown but something flowy. It wasn't because grandma thought the fitted dress looked terrible; she just wanted the bride to opt for an A-line or ball gown silhouette.
However, everything worked out fine in the end. The bride was happy to get a new dress and found her brother and future husband's failure funny. Also, Kasia was happy to have been able to help out and make their upcoming wedding a success.
The story generated a lot of reactions online. While some pitied the groom and bride's brother for their mistake and their attempts to rectify it, others found the situation deeply humorous.
This incident further proves how difficult wedding planning is and how anything could go wrong. Regardless, it's nice to know that things have been resolved.
