Harry's Friend Thought He Must Be 'Nuts' after Meeting Meghan for the First Time, Book Claims
Meghan Markle failed to make a good impression on her future husband's friends. Instead, she allegedly became cold towards them and, at some point, refused to engage with them.
Meghan Markle's former friend and business adviser, Gina Nelthorpe-Cowne, penned a piece for the Daily Mail in January 2020, in which she detailed their history together.
Nelthorpe-Cowne admitted that from the onset, she became drawn to Markle, whom she met in 2014 when she was still part of the legal drama "Suits."

She divulged the former actress had a warm personality and could make one feel like they "mattered the most." When the two women got introduced by a client, Nelthorpe-Cowne noted that she could instantly tell there was something special about Markle, adding she was destined for bigger things and had "star quality."
That said, she became her agent and helped the Hollywood star secure endorsement deals and sponsorships with ivy league brands.
Nelthorpe-Cowne described Markle as an intelligent, creative woman with a sharp business mind and the drive to succeed:
"She was razor-sharp – creative and meticulous, with a good business brain and an American entrepreneurial attitude towards life."
Nelthorpe-Cowne was still a part of Markle's life when she met Prince Harry as they became more than business associates, having developed a close friendship.
The commercial agent revealed that Markle once told her that she and the British prince were going to "change the world" and that her eyes sparkled when she said it with determination.
However, Nelthorpe-Cowne expressed that she understood that statement from Markle entirely differently because, in her mind, she meant they would "RULE the world."
PRINCE HARRY'S PALS WERE NOT IMPRESSED BY MARKLE

After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's relationship became public, he invited her to join him and sixteen of his friends for a weekend shoot party at Sandringham with Queen Elizabeth II's permission.
British writer Tom Bower recounted the events on that day in his book "Revenge" via The Times. Bower explained that most of the guests in attendance were Prince Harry's old pals from Eton College, one of England's public schools.
The Old Etonians came with their wives and girlfriends to the event and were all employees of international banks and auction houses; some were racehorse trainers and estate owners. Bower said they all had "common assumptions, principles, and loyalties."

The former BBC journalist divulged that Prince Harry never anticipated the occasion to turn sour as he expected to have fun with close friends. But Markle became more concerned with what most of his companions were saying:
"He had not anticipated Meghan's reaction. Their jokes involving sexism, feminism, and transgender people ricocheted around the living rooms and dining rooms."
Upon hearing what conversations, the guests were having, Markle immediately started schooling them and "reprimanded them about the slightest inappropriate nuance," said Bower.
Her reaction raised eyebrows among the group as they questioned her "wokery." The American native made it her mission to be a party pooper, said some friends, adding:
"She lacked any sense of humor."
When everyone was on their way home, they began texting each other, shocked at how Prince Harry's then-girlfriend scolded them. "OMG, what about HER?" said one, while another stated the prince must be "nuts."

Unbeknown to them, that was not the last time Markle would vilify them. In March 2017, Prince Harry and his friends went on a couple's trip to Jamaica, and Markle joined them to celebrate Tom Inskip's marriage.
The trip included 40 guests, including some of the royal's oldest pals who came together for the three-day party at the Round Hill Hotel in Montego Bay.
Bower revealed the close-knit group - including parents - became "quickly disappointed" once they met Markle after they longed to meet her.
According to Bower, the future Duchess complained about the food and behaved "princessy." Others said that she refused to engage with them:
"Not only did she quibble about the food, but behaved ‘princessy,’ refusing to engage with Harry’s friends, some said. ‘She wasn’t interested in us,’ said one mother."
The trip was significant because it marked the first time Prince Harry and Markle appeared together at an important event; hence, it was no surprise when the prince spotted a photographer hiding in the bush.
He became infuriated, a reaction that stunned his friends. They suspected that Markle had something to do with the royal's violent outburst, as Bower writes:
"Harry's friends were puzzled by his violent outburst, considering the frequency of similar previous incidents in his life. Their suspicion of Meghan increased; the sentiment was mutual."
Bower highlighted that it was crystal clear that Markle "disliked Inskip and his crowd" because of the jokes they previously made when they last hung out together.
PRINCE HARRY SNUBBED SOME OF HIS PALS FROM HIS WEDDING
When she and Prince Harry walked down the aisle in May 2018 at St. George's Chapel, some of his childhood friends did not make the guest list.
Woman&Home reported that royal biographers Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand revealed in their book "Finding Freedom" that some of Prince Harry's oldest friends did not receive an invite to the couple's royal wedding.
The Mirror previously reported that Inskip had told his dear friend, Prince Harry, that he should first cohabit with Markle before taking their relationship to the next level. Scobie and Duran stated that even though "Skippy's" concerns "came from a good place," his comments "hurt" the prince, which severed their friendship.

When it came to his absence at the royal wedding, which took place at Windsor Castle, the royal experts emphasized that it was Inskip who got snubbed by the royal couple:
"Notable absents were Skippy, Harry's old friend, who had questioned the prince's relationship with Meghan, and his wife, Lara."
Notably, it does not mean the couple was not invited to parts of the ceremony. They scored an invite to the official wedding ceremony and lunchtime reception but not the evening party said the co-authors.

Only 200 people attended the bash, including A-list celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Elton John, Idris Elba, and Victoria and David Beckham, among others.
Inskip was reportedly upset that he was not invited to the evening bash, telling friends later that that hurt him. According to him, Markle "has changed Harry too much."
In addition, an insider told People in January 2020 that the prince "cut off" many of his longtime friends when Markle was pregnant with the couple's first child, Archie.
"Most no longer even have his cell number. They totally understand that men often drift from their friends after marriage, but there’s still a lot of resentment because they had been so close for so long," revealed the source.
