WHO IS SAVANNAH JAMES?

Born Savannah Brinson on August 27, 1986, in Akron, Ohio, LeBron James' wife is the youngest of five children. She grew up with her dad, J.K. Brinson, a former worker at Akron Paint & Varnish Engineered Coatings, and her mom, Jennifer, a nurse.

Even before Savannah began dating LeBron, her family was popular in a few circles in Akron as they would take in children and teens in unfortunate circumstances. Most of those youngsters were friends of Savannah's siblings.

Savannah used her visibility and resources as LeBron's wife to continue her parents' legacy when she grew up. She has focused some of her time on philanthropic work and has launched different programs to help the youth.

One is the Women of Our Future program, which provides counseling and support from volunteer mentors to girls in ninth and tenth grade at Buchtel High School, her alma mater.

At Buchtel, Savannah was part of the softball and cheerleading team, which allowed her to meet her future husband. More on LeBron and Savannah James' love story later.

Besides volunteering with the LeBron James Family Foundation, Savannah created a furniture line called Home Court in 2018 and ran a store in Florida, the Juice Shop.

Although Savannah is married to one of the greatest basketball players in the sport's history, she does not like to attend red-carpet events or be in front of the cameras as it is out of her "comfort zone."

Her Instagram account proves it. Savannah, who stands five feet seven inches tall, primarily shares photos and videos of her children, husband, and other family members. But when she posts about herself, she gets thousands of likes and comments.

He treated her like a queen and with "so much respect" that it was hard not to love him.

SAVANNAH AND LEBRON JAMES ARE HIGH SCHOOL SWEETHEARTS

Returning to LeBron and Savannah James' love story, they met at a football game. It is essential to point out that LeBron and Savannah went to rival high schools (he graduated from St. Vincent-St. Mary).

A mutual friend later told Savannah that LeBron was interested in her and asked for her phone number. Instead of giving him her number, she took his. However, she didn't text him for a while. Savannah didn't know that LeBron was a basketball prodigy, either.

One day out of boredom, Savannah contacted LeBron. He was still interested and invited her to one of his basketball games. He took her to Outback Steakhouse shortly after, but she forgot her leftovers in his car.

LeBron returned to her home to give her the food back, but Savannah joked that he only did it to have an excuse to see her again. The couple began dating shortly after and have been together since then.

On New Year's Eve 2011, years after LeBron debuted in the NBA, he proposed to Savannah at a party that also served as his 27th birthday celebration.

It happened at the Shelborne South Beach Hotel in Miami, and retired NBA star Dwayne Wade had a significant role in the proposal as he held onto the $300,000 engagement ring. About the proposal, LeBron said:

"It felt like a finals game. I had been thinking about it for a while, but it just came to me one day, and I was like, 'This is just another part of growth for me.'"

The Los Angeles Lakers star understood that Savannah James was the woman who supported him through thick and thin, and he wanted her to keep being by his side.
