Renowned country singer Shania Twain's love story is undeniably one of the most intriguing celebrity romance stories ever told. Meet Shania Twain’s husband, Frédéric Thiébaud.
With the release of her breakthrough album "Come On Over" in 1997, Canadian singer Shania Twain achieved worldwide legendary status in the music industry. Her unique sound is a cross between country and pop.
Twain's fame was not without difficulties; she had health and relationship troubles that affected her career. She overcomes this, however, with the support of her second husband, Frédéric Thiébaud, whom she met in an unusual way.
WHO IS FRÉDÉRIC THIÉBAUD, SHANIA TWAIN’S HUSBAND?
Thiébaud is an independent businessman born in Switzerland. According to his LinkedIn profile, he has been the Chief Operating Officer of the international boutique advisory and consulting firm Capitor since 2020.
He spent nearly five years working for both Nestle International and Nespresso International, where he held the positions of team lead manager and international operations manager, respectively.
Thiébaud graduated from the Geneva School of Economics and Business Administration with a bachelor's degree in economics. In addition to his successful business career, he is the proud father of Johanna, his only daughter from his previous marriage.
Because of the Swiss business mogul, Johanna, 10, and Twain have grown close together. They have had several vacations together, including trips to New York City and the stunning lakefront cottage in Canada.
Thiébaud became a subject of fans' speculations after Twain, in 2009, opened up about her special relationship with him. She noted that her and Thiébaud's similar situations helped them understand each other.
Twain called Thiébaud a "dear friend and true gentleman," putting fans in the dark about who he was even though they wore similar rings while on a trip to Canada; she never confirmed if they were an item.
HOW LONG HAVE SHANIA AND FRÉDÉRIC HAVE BEEN TOGETHER?
Thiébaud and Twain first met in 1990 in Switzerland, when they were still married to their former partners: Twain with record producer Robert "Mutt Lange" while Thiébaud with wife Marie-Anne.
Marie-Anne was Twain's assistant, confidante, and best friend. Unfortunately, the dynamics between both couples changed when Lange, who co-wrote his wife's songs, reportedly began an affair with Marie-Anne.
Lange later asked Twain for a divorce, and the latter said she had already learned the truth. Thiébaud was the one who told Twain about the purported affair after discovering that his wife saw Lange behind his back.

After he made the discovery, Thiébaud persuaded them to come clean to Twain. Unfortunately, neither Marie-Ann nor Lange showed any interest in telling the truth.
Twain lost faith in Marie-Anne when she lied to her. She asked Marie-Anne earlier whether she observed anything strange about Lange, and her best friend replied that she didn't see anything unusual about the famed singer's husband.
Twain believed what she said. Eventually, Twain discovered the truth and expressed shock at Marie-Anne's secret romance with her longtime husband. Twain stated Lange was her partner in everything, and the affair devastated her.
Lange, a songwriter, co-wrote several songs with Twain, which all became timeless hits, including "Any of Mine," "Man! I Feel Like a Woman," "Don't Impress Me." He and Twain also share a son Eja who they welcomed in 2001.
Twain divorced Lange in 2010 owing to infidelity and plunged into depression after losing her husband and best friend in a cheating scandal. The "From This Moment On" hitmaker said she lived a miserable life.
Twain had a tough time wrapping her head around the difficult situation she found herself in with her husband and her best friend. She turned to Thiébaud, who was also dealing with heartbreak.
Even though they were both going through difficult times in their life, they fell in love with each other. Twain admitted that Thiébaud's approach to coping with his heartache drew her in. She said:
"I got to observe Fred going through the same thing I was, and I admired how he handled it. That is where I fell in love with him because he was so exemplary in every way."
Thiébaud and Twain confirmed their engagement shortly after Twain finalized her divorce from Lange. She described Thiébaud as her "true gift." In 2011, the couple tied the knot in Rincon, Puerto Rico.
About 40 of their closest friends and family members attend their special day. Twain said although their story was "twisted," it turned out to be a wonderful one in the end.
Despite being married for almost a decade, Thiébaud said that he still falls in love with Twain every day, and their relationship was a real surprise.
Along with falling in love, the pair continues to support each other's careers. Thiébaud also had a positive impact on Twain's career. She resumed her career and published a memoir titled "From This Moment On" shortly after her wedding in Puerto Rico.
Twain launched her most recent album, "Now," in 2017, which included her original songs, and in 2019, she made her feature film debut with "Trading Paint," starring John Travolta.
Thiébaud never misses any opportunity to be with his wife. He accompanied Shania Twain to the 2019 American Music Awards and other special events, including the 19th Zurich Film Festival in 2020.
Thiébaud recently attended the premiere of his wife's Netflix documentary, "Not Just a Girl," which tracks her journey to stardom, her marriage to her ex-husband, and her recovery from Lyme disease, which affected her vocal cords.
They've been married for eleven years. Despite being married for almost a decade, Thiébaud said that he still falls in love with Twain every day, and their relationship was a real surprise. "It's just really a beautiful love story," he added.
