Bruce Carrier invested lots of time and energy into his family, and he adored spending time with them, never missing an opportunity to connect.

The grandfather had played and coached sports for many years, so teaching his grandson, Felix Carrier-Damon, about baseball was something he looked forward to.

After Felix scored two home runs and a grand slam, he was allowed to keep the winning balls, which gave him an idea. The youngster never imagined that his simple gesture would lead to an abundance of tears—but it did!

Mom Melissa recorded the special moment her son excitedly approached grandpa Bruce. In the clip, Felix said: "I signed the ball for you, and it says 'Papa, I love you.'" Bruce couldn't contain his emotion and asked: "Why did you do that?"

The teary-eyed boy instantly responded: "Because you taught me everything about baseball." The proud grandfather also commented on his emotional reaction after being gifted the winning ball. He expressed:

"I'm not ashamed of it at all. He gave me something to be part of his day. To share that day with him was awesome."
