They are yet to resolve the tense relationship even after a joint outing.
In 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their decision to become ex-senior members of the royal family. They relinquished their roles for a future in the US.
This stirred different reactions from royal fans; some supported the couple, while others felt otherwise.

The Megxit was also a shock to members of the royal family. However, royal author Katie Nicholl wrote that the Prince and Princess of Wales, primarily addressed as the Cambridges at the time, were relieved following the Sussexes exit.
The physical distance and decision to abandon royal duties initiated a rift between the brothers. Sadly, it worsened when Harry and Meghan shared never-before-heard revelations via their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The explosive details of the interview included how Kate caused Meghan to cry a few days before their wedding.
Also, the couple revealed that royal family members passed racist comments about Archie's skin color before his birth, and they disregarded Meghan's mental health.
Despite the rigid relationship between the brothers, an insider told Nicholl that the Prince and Princess of Wales were glad that the "drama was gone." However, this claim may have loopholes considering the entire family's reaction after Harry and Meghan's exit.

Harry's conclusion hurt his father and brother the most. For William, he trusted that his brother would continue to team up with him. The duo had a long-term plan to support each other while dispensing royal duties.
But following the Megxit, William had to put his faith in royal aides with whom he formed a team known as "Anmer Circle."
Consequently, the royal author believes that William "can't forgive" his younger brother because "he always thought Harry would be his wingman, now he's doing it on his own."

But, Nicholl added, "thank goodness he's got Kate by his side." Somehow, this would also affect the King.
According to excerpts from the book, King Charles's credibility with the public would be questioned if he could not put his house in order—and he turns his back on Harry.

Despite the sad news of his exit, the Queen maintained that the Palace would remain home to her grandson, his wife, and their kids; she never publicly sided with either of the brothers.
Harry Reportedly Confronted William over Meghan
Harry and William's bond turned sour long before the Sussexes' exit. But unfortunately, it began before the younger prince became a family man.
Following new information from the royal circle, reconciliation is nowhere close to the family. Harry's memoir, which was postponed till December, still holds some details that would highlight his thoughts about the royal family, making it impossible for the royals to trust him.

In 2017, after dating the American-born actress and one-time divorcee, Harry announced that he was ready to propose to her.
Reportedly, William advised that he slowed his horses, but this angered Harry, who angrily responded, "who the hell do you think you are?"
Although the brother already had a tense relationship at the time, it was glaring for all to notice. Unfortunately, things worsened in March 2021, after the couple publicly remarked about the royal family.

During his heart-to-heart talk with Winfrey, Harry noted that he felt sorry for his father and brother, who did not have the same choice as he did — to relinquish their royal duties.
Meghan also confessed that she developed suicidal thoughts during pregnancy and was denied attention from palace officials.
The couple did not stop there; they made more claims in interviews, signifying that there was a genuine reason for their exit. Meghan's recent accusation was that "just by existing," she and her husband were "upsetting the dynamic of the hierarchy."

In the same interview, the Duchess of Sussex announced that she never signed any document that should hinder her from revealing her experiences behind closed doors with the royal family.
Despite the sea of allegations, royal fans were hopeful that the brothers would redeem their bond following the Queen's death that brought every member of the royal family together.
How the Brothers Feel in Each Other's Company
After the Queen's peaceful death on September 8, William and Harry shocked royal fans when they appeared as a force with their wives in front of Windsor Castle.

William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan spent about forty minutes acknowledging the royal fans and well-wishers gathered outside the surroundings.
They were greeted with cheers and heart-melting comments, and many honored the deceased with flowers.
The group smiled and waved at the crowd during the walkabout before exiting the premises in a car driven by William.

Despite what appeared as a reunion, a close source to the Sussexes maintained that the brothers were "uncomfortable" in each other's company but that "everybody is trying their best."
The same source explained that the brothers agreed as it was a time to show their unity, especially since their grandmother had just died. Nothing more had been intended. According to the family friend:
"There was an understanding that 'we need to show solidarity, not just 'we need to do this because it's our duty.' But I don't think it goes beyond that. I don't get the sense of any deeper meaningful rapprochement or a sense that this is it: things will be mended."

The lack of reconciliation might have hurt thousands of royal fans, including Winfrey, a friend to the Sussexes.
However, she believed the brothers would bury the hatchet and repair their relationship. Following new information from the royal circle, reconciliation is nowhere close to the family.

Also, his wife's consistent interviews, which show they still have much to say about the royals, may contribute to the strained relationship.
Nobody knows when and how the brothers intend to settle their rift. Still, one thing is certain, the moment they decide to let bygones be bygones and desist from stirring allegations, the closer their relationship will be mended.
