Eddie Murphy & Daughter Had Touching Dance at Her Wedding — She Made Guests Cry at 3 When He Wed Her Mom
Eddie Murphy and the only wife he ever had, Nicole Mitchell, stayed together for 13 years, and one of the children they welcomed was their daughter, Bria Murphy. When the little girl was three, she made guests cry at her parent's wedding. They sadly divorced, and Eddie was now living a quiet life with a new fiancée. In 2022, he and Nicole united for Bria's wedding.
According to Ebony, Eddie Murphy was a playboy who dated different women until he met Nicole Mitchell at an NAACP Image Awards show in Los Angeles. The actor experience something he'd never felt and couldn't shut out.
The star admitted he knew he'd marry Nicole the day he saw her. Eddie started transforming, and although the woman of his dreams was flattered by being noticed, she didn't see the same future as he did.

Nicole didn't rush to tell her friends about the actor, and their relationship began slowly. The reason was that Eddie's girlfriend, a successful runway and print model, was too busy with her longstanding career.
However, they did become closer, and the actor won her over, but her family was another story as they had doubts about his intentions. Wilma Worrell, Nicole's stepsister and future matron of honor, confessed:
“I was skeptical because I only knew about him through media reports, and some of them weren't good."

Worrell also revealed how and when her mind was changed about Eddie. She recalled visiting the couple for the first time and seeing how they were together, how the star held Nicole's hand when a specific track played, or how they looked at each other.
Nicole's stepsister said those things made her believe Eddie was in love with the model. Worrell also admitted that it was difficult for her stepsister to have close friends because she was beautiful, but the actor was her best friend.

In 1992's The Southeast Missourian, it was revealed that Nicole and Eddie were engaged and had welcomed a baby boy named Miles Mitchell Murphy. The bundle of joy weighed seven pounds, seven ounces at birth, with his father celebrating by saying:
"Love's all right."

However, Miles wasn't the couple's first child because their daughter, Bria Murphy, was born three years before. The couple's wedding was set for March the following year, and something unique and memorable happened during the union.
The Memorable Moment between Eddie and His Daughter
After being together for five years and welcoming two children, Eddie and Nicole tied the knot in front of 500 guests. The couple's wedding day, held at the Grand Ballroom at New York's The Plaza hotel, had been anticipated.

Nicole walked down the aisle of the white satin-decorated ballroom to Eddie's "Don't Give Up On Love" from his Love's Alright album. "The Nutty Professor" actor shared how important it was for him to marry because he was in love and had found someone who loved him back, adding:
"Nicole is intelligent, she's sweet, she's fine, she's a good mother, and she has a good sense of humor."

The star said no particular thing attracted him to his wife because she had many "positive attributes." Ebony revealed how sentimental, beautiful, and romantic the ceremony was, with Rev. Calvin Butts declaring the pair husband and wife.
Eddie lightly kissed his wife several times and hugged her tightly at that moment! What brought people to tears was when the actor unexpectedly looked down at a three-year-old Bria, serving as the head flower girl, and picked her up.
The newlyweds and their daughter walked down the aisle to an ovation that almost drowned out Whitney Houston's "I'm Every Woman!" One of Eddie's closest friends, Arsenio Hall, recalled how the wedding was a fantasy that came true with electricity surrounding it.

The actor still held his daughter during the formal bridal party photo shoot. The couple stayed happily together for several years and welcomed more children, but they sadly couldn't make it work for life.
Nicole and Eddie's Divorce That Never Overshadowed Their Children
A 2006 Ebony Magazine issue revealed that the previous year, Nicole and her husband decided to dissolve their marriage after being together for 13 years. The model was the one who filed for divorce after welcoming three more children with the actor.

The former couple's other children included their lastborn daughter, Bella Zahra, then-three. At the time, Eddie's representative, Paul Bloch, released a statement on his behalf stating:
"The welfare of our children is our main concern, and their best interest is our first priority."

In 2006, the "Coming 2 America" star met Paige Butcher on the set of "Big Momma's House 2." According to Daily Mail, they only started dating in 2012, and by July 2022, they shared two children, Izzy and Max.
In October 2018, People magazine reported that the couple had gotten engaged! The publication's source shared that the pair lived "low-key" lives and were focused on family, with Butcher being relatively close to her fiancé's children.

In a group photo, the family wrapped their arms around each other and smiled happily for the camera. Throwing back to Eddie's wedding day, the star made memories with Bria on her special day.
Bria's Wedding Reunited Her Parents Once More
In July 2022, it was time for Eddie to return the favor by attending his daughter, Bria's wedding. The actor's eldest child tied the knot in Beverly Hills in a private ceremony to actor Michael Xavier.
The event was attended by 250 people, including Bria's mother. The "Dolemite is My Name" star escorted his daughter down the aisle with Bria sharing Instagram photos and a video of the special day.
The clip revealed that the pair had a father-daughter dance. Eddie was seen clutching his daughter tightly as they moved around the dance floor, looking happy and content in each other's arms, with Bria writing that she would remain:
"Daddy's Girl Forever."
Another of Eddie's children, Eric Murphy, shared images of him posing with his girlfriend Jasmin Lawrence, his sister, Bria, and her new husband a day after the wedding. The star's son said he was "overwhelmed with joy" in celebrating his sister and Xavier's wedding.
He shared how excited he was for the couple and described the special day as "beautiful." Eric also noted how his girlfriend had caught the bouquet, so another wedding might be on the cards soon for the Murphys!
