Bo Derek Was Humbled by Her Love Rival's Behavior & Witnessed Her 'Greatest Revenge' after She Stole Her Husband

Bo Derek once stole someone's husband when she was just a teenager.
-
The man's wife behaved graciously toward young Bo and was sweet to her.

Bo found out that the greatest revenge was being genuinely happy after breaking up with someone.
Many Hollywood love stories have strange backgrounds, and Bo Derek's story with her first husband is nothing short of that. The young woman fell desperately in love with a much older man, but that wasn't the only complication.
When Bo met John, he was still married to Linda Evans. At the time, Bo was 16 and John was 46, but five years later, Bo became John's fourth wife. The couple stayed together until John's death in 1998 at 71 years old.

Bo spoke about marrying someone who was already married when they met, saying that she thought it was what was best. She admitted:
"When I look back on being 17 with a 46-year-old man, I thought I knew everything. It felt right at the time. I was so in love with him. At 17, I felt I knew everything and was ready to take on the world. To fall in love with this exciting man and live in Europe was a dream."

Although Bo was in love with her husband, she knew that she had hurt his ex-wife in the process and spoke about what it felt like for her to be the other woman during John's affair.
Linda Shared Her Wisdom
Bo and John fell in love when he directed a movie she was starring in. They were in an idyllic location, and it seemed like a fantasy for them to fall in love, but there was another person to think of.

At the time, John was still married to Linda Evans, and Bo knew of their relationship. Talking about how she felt muscling in on their relationship, she said:
"Being part of breaking up a marriage is a horrible thing, and I still can't believe I was part of it. She [Linda] is such a beautiful human, and I'll never forgive myself."
Bo also said that when she asked Linda to be a part of her documentary on her life, she said yes, which Bo was not expecting. Bo expressed gratitude for Linda's graciousness and noted that she was sweet to her even though Bo didn't understand why.

Linda, on the other hand, shared her own experience of the situation. She confessed that she stopped working while she was with John, and then when they broke up, she asked her agent to find work for her again.
She then got to work on "Dynasty," which became one of the most significant roles of her career. The star then shared what she thought the secret to long-lasting joy was. She said:
"The greatest revenge is happiness. My life turned around. I married his handsome playboy, who, my God, said he waited all his life for someone like me, and he was going to be faithful now."

The handsome playboy she was referring to was Stan Herman, to whom she was married from 1975 to 1979. The couple got divorced because Herman was unfaithful despite his promises.
While Bo and John spent the rest of John's life together, Bo moved on once her husband passed away. She met her second husband just four years after she lost John.
Bo's Second Marriage to Fellow Actor
Bo and John Corbett met in 2002, just before his movie "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" was set to premiere. However, when he told his friend, agent Norby Walters, that he had no date to bring to Walters' Oscar party, Oscar knew he had to do something.

Corbett spoke about his experience with his friend playing matchmaker for him during that time, saying:
"I said, 'I'm not dating anyone,' and he said, 'I'll get you a date, Corbett!' And he set me up with Bo."
Bo hadn't dated since her husband passed and told her friends that she would wait for sparks to fly with someone. When she met Corbett, she finally felt the spark she had been waiting for.

Bo said they both knew their relationship was meant to be as they were instantly attracted to one another. More than that, though, there was an element of comfort they both felt around each other.
Bo didn't hold back on the compliments when talking about what she loved about her now-husband. She gushed:
"He makes me laugh all the time. He's full of life, full of joy. I became attracted to him, and I still am. We take things day by day, and I think we are still there."

The couple has shared many beautiful years together but has remained quiet for most of their relationship. They have lived most of their lives outside of the public eye since their careers wound down a couple of years ago.
They have lived together for 20 years, but until 2020, they had not made a commitment to each other that would last a lifetime. When asked why they had made that decision, Bo clarified that they didn't feel they needed to.
She mentioned that if they were young and wanted to start a family together, they might have done that, but they ultimately decided they did not need to be married for their relationship to be blissful.

However, some years after that comment, the couple decided that it was time they tie the knot. During the COVID-19 pandemic's quarantine period, Bo and Corbett agreed that they should get married and make the most of 2020.
They shared they believed that 2020 should not be looked back on as a year that nobody wants to remember. They wanted 2020 to have something good come from it, and they chose marriage.

The pair married in secret in late 2020. All of their closest friends and family knew of the event, but the world only found out when Corbett revealed it on "The Talk" in mid-2021, saying:
"We're pretty private people; we didn't make an announcement, all our friends and family knew, but this is the first time either one of us has said anything publicly about it because really we haven't had an opportunity."
The couple is now living in wedded bliss, even though Bo had a rough first experience with marriage, and they did not tie the knot until almost 20 years into their relationship.
