Entertainment Icons Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have one of Hollywood's most enduring love stories. Their romance journey began on February 14, 1983, and after 39 years together, the lovebirds are still waxing stronger.

However, although the couple seems perfect for each other, they have decided not to climb the marriage train. Over the years, the pair's decision to remain unmarried has sparked a lot of questions from fans who are eager to know the reason for their choice.

Thankfully, the public has gotten answers as Hawn has repeatedly opened up about her and Russell's romance and why they will not be taking their relationship to the next level.

In 2015, during an interview on the ITV daytime show "Loose Women," the actress noted that had she been married to Russell, she would have been divorced long ago. According to Hawn, marriage was psychological and was only important if one felt the need to be bound to someone.

She further said that for someone who had money and loved being independent, being unmarried was psychologically fulfilling because there was freedom to make decisions one way or the other. Additionally, Hawn confessed:

"For me, I chose to stay. Kurt chose to stay, and we like the choice."

Indeed, the Hollywood stars have proven that not tying the knot may be the best choice for them, as they have never been apart since they started dating.

Meanwhile, Hawn and Russell's grandkids are growing by the day; according to a report, they have a special name for their grandparents. Unlike the usual "grandma" and "grandpa" titles, their grandkids address Hawn and Russell as Gogo and Gogi.

According to the couple's son, Wyatt, "Gogi" was the actor's nickname in life while "Gogo" was Hawn's nickname, hence their grandkids' decision to address them.
