Reports revealed that 17-year-old Weston Masset was driving near Dempsey's California home on that fateful day when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to somersault three times.

The effect of the accident left Masset trapped in the damaged car, almost unconscious and scared. Recalling how he felt at that moment, the teenager confessed:

"I was scared for my life. I was upside down."

But thankfully, Dempsey's house was by the corner. Noticing what had happened, the actor sprang into action, utilizing a fire extinguisher and a crowbar to safely remove Masset from the car.

Afterward, the hero called the paramedics just in time to take the teenager to the hospital, where he made a full recovery. Had it not been for Dempsey's quick actions, Masset might have sustained more injuries than he did, and the teenager knew it. He told the news outlet:

"He was there for me. It would have been a lot worse without him."
