She spoke about a "special" someone again in 2021. She gushed about her new romance without going into too much detail. Frank passed away in 2015 at 84 years old. His family released a statement declaring that although he had passed from natural causes, the head trauma he had repeatedly endured during his NFL career led to a degenerative brain disease.
After his death, Frank was discovered to have had chronic traumatic encephalopathy, commonly referred to as CTE He was at the peak of his career when he met Kathie in the 1980s; he said she was "adorable," and she admitted it was "sort of " love at first sight.
