Joshua Ackles Is Dedicated to Down Syndrome Awareness & Is Jensen Ackles' Brother
"Supernatural" star Jensen Ackles's big brother Joshua Ackles is on a mission to make the world better for children with Down Syndrome.
A central arc to the cult series "Supernatural" in which actor Jensen Ackels stars is his relationship with his on-screen brother, Jared Padalecki. Many fans may not know that Jensen has a real-life big brother.
Joshua Ackers is a philanthropist, and though he doesn't hunt monsters, he is working to make the world a better place and a safer one, especially for people with Down Syndrome.

Joshua Ackles is 3 Years Older than his Famous Brother
Family is essential to the Ackles. Joshua and Jensen are two of actor Alan Ackles's children from his 50-plus-year marriage to Donna Ackles. The couple tied the knot in 1971 and are still together.
Joshua and Jensen have a baby sister, Mckenzie, but Jensen is the only one who followed in dad's footsteps in the entertainment industry. Joshua is Alan and Donna's first child and is three years older than his brother, who was born in 1978, even though his exact date of birth is unknown.
Joshua Ackles is Married and Has 3 Sons
Like his brother, Joshua is married. His wife is educational diagnostician Ali Bitros Ackles, and they share three children. Their youngest boy, Levi, was born with Down Syndrome, and his plight has led his parents to become activists to raise awareness about how special needs children are treated. Ali wrote:
"Did you know that 16 out of 50 states do not prohibit discrimination against individuals based on their disability when seeking an organ transplant? (...). That means that if Levi ever needed an organ transplant, he could be denied because he has Down syndrome."
The family lives in Sanches, Texas, and Joshua and Ali have to deal with yet another special needs child in the family: Their son Lincoln who has been diagnosed with ADHD.
Team Levi
To raise awareness and funds to help children with Down Syndrome, Joshua participates in the annual Buddy Walk. In 2007, Team Levi raised $27,000 for the Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas. 2022 will be the 11th Buddy Walk.
Jensen has given every indication that he supports his brother in his mission to raise awareness about Down Syndrome and is an adoring uncle to his nephew.
Joshua and Ali are committed to disseminating information and ending misconceptions about people with Down Syndrome, empowering them, and making institutions and individuals aware of their right to dignity and valuable life.
Joshua is on Good Terms with his Brother
Levi has become an inspiration to his parents and thousands of people who participate in the event. His uncle Jensen paid tribute to Levi on "Supernatural." The gas station on the show is named "Lil' Levi" in his honor.
In 2015 Joshua posted a Tweet in which he shared a photo of himself celebrating his birthday with his father, Alan, and his brother Jensen. It's easy to see that the brothers are close. Like Joshua, Jensen has three children: two daughters, Justice and Arrow, and a son Zeppelin.
Jensen has indicated that he supports his brother in his mission to raise awareness about Down Syndrome and is an adoring uncle to his nephew, including a Twitter shout-out to Levi: "I love you, buddy!"
Jensen's breakout role was in 2005, in "Supernatural," aired for 15 seasons and ended in November 2020. However, Jensen still found time for other projects like the independent 2007 film "Ten Inch Hero," and the hit 2009 movie, "My Bloody Valentine."
Even though "Supernatural" has ended, the actor is a busy man. Fans will still see Jensen as a narrator in the new spin-off, "The Winchesters." Jensen not only appears in cameos in the new show, but he was also the executive producer. We look forward to seeing a lot more of Jensen Ackles soon.
