Weatherspoon was born on January 7, 1974. He is a talent manager and a producer in the music industry. During her time in Destiny's Child and after leaving the girl group, Matthew Knowles, Beyoncé's father, managed Rowland.

However, in 2009, Weatherspoon took over as Rowland's manager until their relationship went from professional to romantic. According to reports, Weatherspoon's career in the music industry has afforded him an estimated net worth of twelve million dollars.
