Leslie Was Not the Only Peggy Ann's Child

Leslie was not the only child Peggy had; she also had twin daughters. Her twin girls, Janet Ann Jordan and Jana Lynn Jordan were born 22 months after Leslie in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where she also raised them.

While there is no information about what the twins do, they were a significant part of Leslie's inspiration throughout his career. In October 2016, he revealed that his Cricket Marlowe character in "American Horror Story: Roanoke" was a tribute to Jana, as her nickname is "Cricket."

He further stated that his personality formed while they were growing up. He was a quiet loner who loved his company while the twins had each other.

Peggy Was a Source of Inspiration for Her Son

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Peggy's son became a viral sensation on Instagram. He often shared funny video stories and skits about his mother, which made fans love him more.

One of the videos he shared was about a trip Peggy had taken with her daughters. They went to Kissimmee, Florida, and she disagreed with them on pronouncing the town's name correctly.

While she loved that the town was called "kiss-a-me," her daughters told her the proper name was "Ka-sem-mee." Not satisfied with what her daughters were saying, she asked someone else.

As they stopped for lunch, Peggy asked one of the locals where they were. She wanted the person to pronounce the name of the city. Unfortunately, the person mistook her question for the name of the lunch spot, and the lady said, "Bur-ger King."

In another story, Leslie shared that his mother wanted to know how he would occupy his time when he went to Chattanooga. The actor told her that he would catch up on his sleep.

Confused, his mother asked him how that happened, and the actor replied that he needed more sleep. She clarified her question and asked him how he got ketchup on his sleeve. The actor asked his fans: "Do you think she might have been hard of hearing?"

Peggy Ann Supported Her Son

Peggy created a safe place where her famous son could express himself even before he achieved fame. He was also not afraid to come out to her.

At 12, Leslie knew he was different and confided in his mother. At the time, they did not understand what it meant to be gay. However, when he thought she would pull out her Bible and preach to him, she did not.

His mother only told him she feared for him if he chose that path. She was concerned that people would ridicule him, so she told him to live his life quietly even though he admitted not following her advice.
