Ohio Bride 'Wears' Her Daughter Instead of a Veil, Exchanges Vows While Breastfeeding

A bride excited to tie the knot made sure her two-year-old daughter wasn't left out of the special day. While many kids serve as flower girls at their parents' weddings, proceedings unfolded very differently for this Ohio bride.

Dalton Mort and Jimmy Joe Mort couldn't wait to say "I do" in July 2019, and their big day was one of a kind. The happy couple chose to include their little Ellora in every way imaginable.

Unique photos and video footage reveal how the doting mother carried her little girl on her back while walking down the aisle. But that wasn't the only unexpected moment of the ceremony.

The Bride Carried Her Daughter

Twenty-two-year-old Dalton was a proud mom, and she adored her now-husband as well as their precious child. She couldn't envision their wedding day without Ellora close by. But many might be surprised by just how close the little one was.

Another unusual moment during the couple's wedding ceremony may have surprised some people.

Dalton carried her daughter throughout the entire ceremony that took place in Steubenville, Ohio. The mother never got tired of holding her little girl, who was with her from the first moment she entered the church to the final family photo session.

It Was Normal for Them

Strapped to Dalton's back with a red cloth, little Ellora experienced the big day close to her mom. Dalton also believed keeping Ellora near would help keep her calm during the busy day, and she was right.

Halfway through the proceedings, the adorable two-year-old took a nap! It happened exactly when the couple exchanged rings, so the little girl was right in the middle of Dalton and Jimmy when they officially became husband and wife. The joyful bride shared:

"I am used to wearing her for an extended amount of time. I love wearing my daughter, so it just seemed normal for us."

Creating Special Memories Together

For the mom, it was an honor having her child with her, and she couldn't wait until Ellora was old enough to appreciate the wedding photos. Dalton was happy her angel would have memories proving how much she was loved and valued.

Photographer Laura Schaefer called Dalton a "stunning baby-wearing bride!" before revealing the wedding guests' reaction when they first saw the mom "wearing" her child instead of a veil:

"When Dalton appeared from behind the doors and began walking down the aisle with Ellie, you could just tell the guests were in awe."

The Bride Nursed Her Daughter

Another unusual moment during the couple's wedding ceremony may have surprised some people. Dalton nursed her little girl while she and her husband sat sharing their wedding vows.

The choice was a no-brainer for the mom, much like the decision to wear her on her back. The couple had their little girl when Dalton was only 19, and she was a pivotal part of their story. The mother shared:

"She was with us when we moved out of our parents' house into our first apartment, and then into our first house. She has been there for our entire adult relationship. She even went on 'honeymoon' with us."
