Born to Melissa and John Elordi, actor Jacob Elordi's relationship with his parents is warmer than that of his character in the HBO series "Euphoria." With their son's inherent self-assurance, John and Melissa trusted that Jacob knew what he was doing when he chose acting.

John and Melissa Elordi rounded up their family with a star, Jacob Elordi. Their son became a Hollywood heartthrob after landing roles in the American film franchise "Kissing Booth." However, his most riveting role is his most recent as Nate Jacobs in "Euphoria," with critics calling him one of the show's strongest performers.

While fans have found Jacob's character loathsome and terrifying, his parents have also expressed distress about some of the violent and gut-wrenching actions depicted by Nate. Despite these reservations – and earlier ones – John and Melissa have always gone the extra mile for their children's dreams.

Jacob Elordi Has Very Supportive Parents

Australian native Jacob Elordi drew his first breath on June 26, 1997. Born to John and Melissa Elordi, Jacob inherited his father's Basque Country roots alongside his three older sisters and brother. As the baby of the family, Jacob recalled being incredibly spoiled.

In July 2020, during an episode of the GQ's "Actually Me," Jacob said there was never a time he hadn't been spoiled, and the actor proclaimed that he planned to keep it that way. His parents afforded his older siblings the same treatment when they moved for his sister to Melbourne from Brisbane.

Melissa and John moved their whole family to a different city, so their daughter could attend The Australian Ballet School. Jacob transferred to St. Kevins College, which the actor felt was "super strict." They stayed for a short time and moved back to their home in Brisbane, and Jacob attended a much less strict school, Nudgee College.

Despite the actor pursuing his career mainly in America, with his parents still living in Australia, Melissa and John remain integral in their son's life. According to GQ Magazine, they are his biggest cheerleaders, as the couple owns T-shirts with pictures of almost every character their son has ever played.

In March this year, John sat down with Dail Mail Australia to talk about his son's upbringing and rise to Hollywood fame. The father-of-five recalled his son's obsession with film and theatre and watching YouTube videos of actors' auditions.

Jacob's Australian accent often threw his fans off as almost all of his characters are American, yet the switch between the accents is incredibly distinct. John attributed this ability to his son's constant listening to Eminem's music until he knew it back to front.

In the beginning, John was skeptical about Jacob's career choice, saying it was a "one-in-a-million" situation. But Jacob was sure of himself, and John supported his son despite his doubts. Plus, Jacob had a particular self-assurance that Melissa and John could stand behind.

So they trusted his ability to work hard, knowing what he was doing, and their son soon moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting professionally. With an unbridled passion and dedication to his craft, Jacob has well-earned acclaim as an actor.

The actor continued to include his parents in his career, as Melissa and John appeared during his chat with Today in January. Their son took the interview in their room while they listened in from the comfort of their bed. When the hosts saw them in their bedroom mirror, Jacob turned the camera to reveal his parents who shied away.

His Father Called Him "Jacob the Champion"

As a child, John Elordi emigrated from Basque Country to Australia. He reportedly works professionally as a house painter and built his family home in Brisbane over the span of 13 years.

John has a tight bond with his son, Jacob, raising him to have thick skin and a strong work ethic. His teachings must have stuck, as Jacob saw his father as the perfect example of the kind of man he wanted to be.

Moreover, John is proud of his son's achievements, even though he sometimes struggles to understand his job. As much as Jacob was a dedicated performer, he was also an avid athlete in school who excelled in different sports.

He earned the nickname "Jacob The Champion" from his dad for his determination to succeed. This mantra rings in the actor's head whenever he feels he's not reaching his potential in the gym or "doing something silly."

Jacob Has the Closest Relationship with His Mother

Jacob Elordi – who was previously linked romantically to his co-star Zendaya – adores his mother, Melissa Elordi, and has always spoken fondly of her during his interviews. The actor gushed about Melissa, saying she was the most "loving, beautiful, and angelic human being" in the world.

Melissa was a stay-at-home mom who volunteered at her son's school lunchroom. Her son also had the luxury of hanging out with her during school hours. She currently has an Instagram account, but she keeps it private.
