The New York Post called him a "rock star on the rise," and he released his debut EP, Python, in 2018. Months before his death, he posted collaborations with his friends, Niki Randa and Mckay Felt, on his SoundCloud account.

He composed original music for the 2020 Spanish language dystopian thriller, "Nuevo Orden." Also known as "New Order," the film won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2020 Venice Film Festival for director and writer Michel Franco.

Cormac posted a video on Instagram of him playing the electric guitar, bald from chemo treatments, on July 14, 2022. The singer shared that he received a diagnosis of stage three germ cell cancer in November 2021.

Of late, the British actor reprised his role as Marvel villain, The Abomination, in "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law."

At the time of the post, the singer had lost 60 pounds and half his hearing. According to the National Library of Medicine, his form of cancer, extragonadal choriocarcinoma, is a "rare malignancy with a poor prognosis" in males.

The Roth family announced on October 31, 2022, that the youngest member of the family, Cormac Roth, had lost his battle with cancer, two months shy of his 26th birthday, on October 16, 2022. In a statement, they said:

"The grief comes in waves, as do the tears and laughter when we think of that beautiful boy across the 25 years and ten months that we knew him. An irrepressible and joyful and wild and wonderful child. Only recently, a man. We love him."

The family lauded the late singer for keeping his "wicked wit and humor" while fighting the disease. His family and loved ones were with him when he passed away. The guitarist is remembered for being the "embodiment of kindness."
