Marlowe Ottoline Layng Sturridge is the charming daughter of American-British actress Sienna Miller and Tom Sturridge. Both her parents are prominent English actors. Nevertheless, the 10-year-old Marlowe has a private life.

Marlowe's parents were engaged for a year at the time of her birth and went their separate ways when she was three years old. Despite their break up, the former couple is still close and frequently refers to each other as best friends.

According to reports, they sometimes live at each other's houses and go on vacations together. When asked about their relationship, they said it is for their daughter's greater benefit.

Marlowe Knows How to Say 'No'

In July 2012, Sienna and her then-fiance, Tom Sturridge, welcomed their baby girl into the world. Marlowe was born in London. Before their baby's arrival, Sienna kept her pregnancy private for several months. In an interview with British Vogue, the actress explained her silence:

"Even though I'm under strict instructions not to say anything, I'm feeling fine, everything is progressing nicely, and it's exciting."

Sienna stressed that Marlowe is an independent thinker and can express herself. The actress added that when growing up, she used to be a people-pleaser, but her daughter knows how to say no, and at times, she refuses to do what her mom commands in public.

Marlowe doesn't have a phone

Little Marlowe doesn't have a social media account. Sienna says that she's very skeptical about Marlowe owning a phone. The actress has put strict measures on her daughter, citing that she'll allow her daughter to have a flip-phone when she turns 12.

The "American Sniper" actress admitted that she has a unique way of parenting her daughter, noting that words like "tabloid" aren't allowed in their household. Sienna prefers keeping her daughter away from the public. She also has a rule where she doesn't allow Marlowe to be on social media.

However, Marlowe once appeared in British Vogue magazine when she was seven years old. Sienna shared a sneak peek of how she was spending time with her family during the lockdown. She surprised her fans with the first official full look at her daughter.

Marlowe Spent the Lockdown with Both Her Father and Her Mother

Although Marlowe's parents Sienna and Tom, separated in 2015, they're both present in their daughter's life. During the covid-19 pandemic, Marlowe's parents and grandparents lived under one roof throughout the lockdown period. The actress revealed that during that time, Marlowe was thrilled.

The actress sees herself in Marlowe; she says that her daughter is her real mirror.

Besides co-parenting, Sienna revealed that she has a great bond with Tom and that they love each other as friends. They occasionally go on vacations together; the actress admitted that such experiences are good for their daughter. She also noted that, at times, they live together and genuinely like each other's company.

Homeschooling Was Overwhelming for Marlowe's Mother

Sienna says that homeschooling isn't for the faint-hearted and that she's taking it one day at a time. During the coronavirus pandemic, the actress and her daughter social-distancing together.

Since schools were closed then, the actress went the extra mile to ensure her daughter was getting her education. Sienna revealed that homeschooling was a challenge and that she had learned to appreciate people who teach for a living, citing that they make the system work.

While homeschooling was overwhelming, Sienna tried to remain positive most of the time by including fun activities like baking and doing makeup. The actress sees herself in Marlowe; she says that her daughter is her real mirror. The actress further noted that her relationship with Marlowe is intense and loving.

The Hollywood star added that she was working on a kid-friendly project to add to her resume. She got inspiration from her daughter for the project based on the idea of running around and dressing up in funny outfits.

She aims to create something that her daughter can watch and appreciate. Nevertheless, Sienna Miller supports her daughter's dream of becoming a marine biologist. However, she sees Marlowe as a performer, considering that her parents and grandparents are in showbiz.

Both of Marlowe's grandmothers, Phoebe Nicholls and Jo Miller, are talented actresses. Her paternal grandfather Charles Sturridge is a screenwriter and director who has won several awards. Currently, Marlowe is focused on school and has a long way to decide her career path.
