Chance worked a respectable job for years, serving as a police officer in the Los Angeles Police Department. While his career at the LAPD did not get him any screen time, Chance was famous amongst his wife's fans as he appeared on their IGTV show, "Fridays with Tab & Chance."

Besides his profession, Chance is passionate about teaching basketball to the youth. This passion has inspired him to launch an Instagram account, where he shares his students' progress aged eight to 13. "Teaching life lessons through basketball," the bio reads.

In 2021, after over a decade in law enforcement, Chance was able to retire. Through a YouTube post, Tabitha revealed that her 15-year dream to retire her husband from the workforce came true. With a big grin, she announced that Chance could pursue his passions and interests in life.

After a year of trying to make ends meet, Chance and his partner found themselves broke in California. Chance eventually found a job at Oakwood Homes, while Tabitha was employed at UPS.

Fans were undoubtedly happy about the couple's milestone, but talk show host Wendy Williams had her own comments. Citing her personal experience from a previous marriage, Williams predicted that Chance's marriage would soon turn sour.

According to the famous television personality, making a significant decision, such as leaving a fixed source of income, comes with risks, and when things go south, Chance may come home blaming his wife for making him quit his job.

Following her commentary, Tabitha posted a reply to Williams on her Instagram account, noting that she and Chance have faced challenges, including financial problems. They have been working together for over two decades to make life more beautiful for their family.

However, the social media star understands that Williams' experience may have caused immense pain, which she reflects through her opinions.

It wasn't until college that they realized they were in love with each other. At that time, Tabitha was studying in Miami, and Chance was in North Carolina. She bravely called Chance to confess her feelings and returned to North Carolina.

During the early part of their romance, Chance and Tabitha practiced abstinence to rule out lust as the reason for their togetherness. She said:

"I was like we need to make sure that we really like each other or what I’m feeling is a real feeling. So we did. We just started dating and talking everyday and spending time together."

Even then, they had their differences, including the kind of environment they were raised. While Tabitha was affectionate, Chance was not. Nevertheless, the actual test of their relationship came when they moved to Los Angeles to pursue the actress' career in the entertainment industry.

Despite how their plans turned out, Tabitha did not let go of her dreams, so Chance joined the LAPD to earn for their family while his wife continued to find success in the entertainment industry.

The couple has supported each other throughout their 19 strong years of marriage, but their life together did not go without challenges. During a previous interview, Chance revealed they were on the brink of a divorce but were not financially stable or knowledgeable about getting one.

Chance left home for two days after several arguments but eventually returned. Their marriage has since been a success.
