Chris Evans' Parents Are like His Friends & His Mother Helped Choose the Role of Captain America
Chris Evans may have followed in the footsteps of his mother, Lisa Evans, best known for the show "One Life to Live." According to reports, Lisa helped Chris pick the "Captain America" role, which gave him wider recognition.
The American actor, director, and film producer began his acting career in a typical fashion, performing in school productions and community theatres. Chris's mom, a one-time actress, says she influenced her son to accept the life-changing opportunity.
Chris has a great relationship with his parents. His father, Robert Evans, is far from the entertainment industry but has supported his talent since childhood, helping him become one of today's most influential actors.
In Chris Evans' Family, It Is Customary to Share Everything
Chris Evans' parents, Lisa Capuano and George Robert Evans III, married on July 9, 1977. The couple was blessed with four children: Carly Evans, Christopher Robert Evans, Scott Andrew Evans, and Shana Evans.
Chris' parents are of different origins; his father, Robert, is half German and half English, while his mother has Irish and Italian roots. When Chris was 11, the family moved to Sudbury, Massachusetts. Chris ventured into acting when he started appearing in school plays.
While in high school, his drama teacher noticed his talent for acting when he participated in more plays and theatre performances. Chris finally moved to New York to pursue his acting career; he joined the Less Strasberg Theatre Institute.
As a kid, Chris never liked going to day camps alone. But whenever his siblings accompanied him, he was always happy to enjoy the moment. His family is friendly and open-minded, and they often talk easily about things, including the most confidential ones.
Chris Evans' Father Is Far from the Movie Industry
The actor's dad is a health-focused general dentist who graduated with a Doctorate in Medical Dentistry in 1978. After graduating, he worked for a short period before returning to Boston to launch West Newton Dental Associates in 1981.
When Chris was contemplating whether to accept the role, at some point, he went into panic mode. His mom advised him to grab the chance, citing that he'll never have to worry about paying his bills.
After several years of a successful and flourishing clinical practice, Dr. Robert and his partner Jean Marie opened Groton Dental Wellness Spa. It was their first joint practice, established in April 2004, based on natural and holistic dental health principles.
After working with his partner for years, the business expanded into Groton Wellness, a 26-chair dental practice. The venture comprised different units such as functional medicine, an organic cafe, a detoxification Spa, and an energy medicine center promoting total wellness.
The year 2019 was Dr. Robert's final year practicing dentistry. During his career as a dentist, he impacted many lives and has several accomplishments to be credited for. Even though he's a professional dentist, Robert was once sued for negligence by his former patient, who was pregnant at the time.
According to the lawsuit, Robert advised his patient that one of her front teeth was poisoning her developing baby and needed to remove it. The complainant alleged that Robert performed a bone graft without the patient's consent, despite an infection.
The allegations indicated that he positioned different products in the patient's mouth, which was considered harmful to pregnant women. Although the infection got worse, Robert allegedly declined to prescribe an antibiotic and refused to attend to the patient when she returned with symptoms of infection.
Chris' Mom Helped Him Make an Important Decision for His Career
Lisa influenced Chris' choice for the role of "Captain America;" according to her, the actor was scared of becoming too famous. The mom of four recalls her son saying that his greatest fear was losing his anonymity:
"I have a career now where I can do what I like. I can walk my dog. Nobody bothers me. Nobody wants to talk to me. I can go wherever I want. And the idea of losing that is terrifying to me."
When Chris contemplated accepting the role, he went into panic mode at some point. His mom advised him to grab the chance, citing that he'll never have to worry about paying his bills. The actor had to go through therapy sessions before accepting the life-changing opportunity.

Lisa and Robert's Children Work in the Film Industry
All of Lisa and Robert's children have tried their hands at acting. Years before they became adults, Chris Evans and his siblings would perform in front of relatives at Christmas.
Their eldest daughter, Carly, is an actress known for the film "The Bill." Scott is also an actor and producer; he has worked on several projects, including "The Lovely Bones." Their youngest daughter Shana also has acting credits and is known for the movie "The Owner."
Chris seems to have gone the extra mile in pursuing his acting career compared to his siblings. Fresh from high school, he landed roles in "The Perfect Score" and "Not Another Teen Movie."
