Bill Hader's Ex-wife Maggie Carey Is an Acclaimed Director and Actress
Carey, born in 1975 in Boise, Idaho, is a talented director who has excelled in other aspects of the entertainment industry, such as acting, screenwriting, and producing various TV shows.
Carey and fellow comedian Liz Cackowski collaborated on the internet comedy sketch "The Jeannie Tate Show" in 2007. Carey directed parodies for the 2011 series "Funny or Die Presents," which aired four episodes.

Carey recently directed episodes for two other TV shows, "Never Have I Ever" in 2020 and "The Sex Lives of College Girls" in 2021. In addition, she was the brains behind the 2013 comedy series "The To Do List," which starred her husband.
She worked as a lifeguard at the public pool in her hometown of Borah before starting her filmmaking career. She was also a part of the Upright Citizens Brigade, a New York City improvisational and sketch group.

Bill Hader and Maggie Carey Were Together for 11 Years
A mutual friend introduced Carey and Hader during their time in Los Angeles. Once Hader landed a role on an NBC variety show in 2005, the couple relocated to the Big Apple.
The couple finally tied the knot in May 2006 and welcomed children. After eleven years together, Hader filed for divorce from Carey in December 2017 due to irreconcilable differences.
Hader went on to have romantic relationships with two other actresses after his marriage to Carey ended.

According to The Blast, the duo was separated for six months before the divorce filing. Hader was requesting joint physical and legal custody of their children. He also stated that Maggie should receive spousal support.
They finally settled in March 2018, and their marital status reverted to single three months later. Although there were no further details about their fixed case, it included spousal and child support obligations and visitation and asset divisions.

Bill Hader and Maggie Carey Have Three Daughters Together
Care and Hader are proud parents of three daughters: Hannah, born in 2009; Harper, in 2012; and Hayley, in 2014. Having kids in his early years of Hollywood success was challenging for Hader.
In a 2019 interview with Variety, Hader was sentimental when he discussed his children because he rarely spends time with them because of his career. He recalled he had to go to work at "SNL" when he and his wife welcomed their second daughter.

Hader's schedule became increasingly hectic as his career progressed. He was under pressure from all sides and thought it was "terrible" that he could only spend five days with her daughters over the summer. He said:
"It's this weird thing where when you're in this industry, you don't have time to be with them, and it's really, really difficult. "
Hader then considered making amends for his absence by spending time with his children next time. Meanwhile, his relationship with Carey was always positive, and they are still close.
Bill Hader Has Been Linked to Some Famous Actresses since His Divorce
Hader went on to have romantic relationships with two other actresses after his marriage to Carey ended. He first dated "The O.C." actress Rachel Bilson and then "Pitch Perfect" star Anna Kendrick.
Bilson, Hader's co-star in Carey's "The To Do List," got back in touch in 2019, and the two dated until 2020. He briefly dated Kendrick in January 2022, but they split up by June of that year.
