Mark Harmon's Son Wed in Beach Ceremony — He Proposed at Ranch Where He Spent Childhood with Dad

NCIS actor, Mark Harmon, prefers to keep quiet about his private life. Despite being a well-known and popular actor, very little information about his life off-camera is known. And his family has the same approach to their father's fame. They don't post much on social media and are rarely spotted.

As the son of the famous sportscaster Tom Harmon and the actress Elyse Knox, Mark is no stranger to public attention. But even his parents were intensely private people, and the actor shared that he didn't even know they were famous until he was almost eight.

The little that is known about the Harmons is everything they have shared willingly. It's common knowledge that Mark didn't start with plans of becoming an actor. But, with the advice of Ozzie Nelson, he decided to try it. One of the things Mark has been open about is how he met his wife, Pam Dawber.

The two knew exactly what they were looking for in a romantic partner. He wanted something profound, while she was looking for a strong, intelligent, and sensitive man. In 1986, Mark and Pam would get the opportunity to find the one they were looking for at a mutual friend's party.

The pair met each other throughout the night and got along excellently. They started dating, and around a year later, they decided to settle down together. The couple had two boys not long after and named them Sean and Ty Christian Harmon.

At the time, Pam was acting in a few small shows, including "Mork and Mindy" and "My Sister Sam." But she had no intention of pursuing a career in acting after her boys were born. She quit the profession to be a stay-at-home mom who could take good care of her family.

Eventually, between the 9th and the 13th of November, 2022, Courtney and Sean gathered their family and friends in Nosara, Costa Rica, and said their vows.

Meanwhile, it was starting to look like Mark would be successful as an actor. The Harmons' life was taking off, and they invested as much time into their sons as possible. The actor missed Sean's first steps while filming and realized "no job is worth missing life's most important moments."

Both Harmon kids decided to go into showbusiness, with Ty preferring scriptwriting and Sean acting. Recently, fans had a rare glimpse into the private life of the Harmons when Mark's eldest son decided to tie the knot with his fiancee.

A Happy Day for the Harmons

On December 1, 2016, Mark's son Sean went to an art gallery in Santa Monica. Instead of the art, something completely different caught his eye. Right then, he saw Courtney Prather in the gallery, and Sean was in love. He built up some courage and approached her. They elaborated:

"Sean clocked Courtney the minute he walked in the door, and after a drink (or two) finally worked up the courage to approach her. Despite her best attempts to resist, he offered her a ride home, asked for her number and the rest is history!"

Sean isn't the only one of the two with a claim to fame. Courtney is a rather recognizable figure as well, with her fitness coaching series on the YouTube channel BeFit. The latest addition to the Harmon family is also an internationally published model and a spokesperson for several fitness brands.

After they dated for five years, Sean asked Courtney to be his wife. The two shared the story of the surprise proposal in their wedding announcement. It all happened at a horse ranch that Sean had visited since he was young. After a series of activities, Sean ended the day with a surprise:

"Courtney begged to ride bikes out to the north pasture to visit the herd. Little did she know, Sean had other plans and while she was distracted by the horses and the sunset, turned around to find Sean, with a bottle of wine and a small box; down on one knee..."

With Mark's horse as part of the photoshoot, the two opened a bottle of wine to celebrate their union. They also took several photos to commemorate the occasion, and Courtney captioned them with, "A million times YES." The images show the happy couple showing off the ring, and Sean's dad's horse looking good for the photos.

Eventually, between the 9th and the 13th of November, 2022, Courtney and Sean gathered their family and friends in Nosara, Costa Rica, and said their vows. The entire time there was filled with laughs, adventure, and even some yoga before the big day.

After waiting for all the guests to arrive, they all spent time surfing, relaxing at the Bodhi Tree yoga resort, and celebrating the union between Sean and Courtney. On November 11, all the guests gathered at the Nosara Beach Hotel, and they danced through the night afterward.

In a video posted on Instagram, Sean's dad could be seen walking his new daughter-in-law down the aisle. Courtney even gave him a sweet little peck as he gave her away. After the ceremony, Mark also danced with Courtney before Sean took over.

The tropical wedding reception finished with Mark's son and his new wife cutting the wedding cake together, laughing happily while holding each other. On November 13, 2022, the time came to go home. Many seemed unwilling to depart, just as the invitation predicted, "But trust us, you won't want to leave!"
