Marie Osmond lived under the pressure of condemnation for many years because of her looks. Her children inspired her to live a healthier life and today she is not interested in being thin; she just wants to participate in her family's life. Nothing compares to the joy she feels as a grandmother of eight.

Marie Osmond started her career as a singer, but she is an all-around entertainer who has evolved to talk show hosting and acting.

Osmond grew up in the public eye because of her musically gifted family. However, when she started the show "Donnie and Marie," she was only 15 but faced harsh criticism of her body.

In an interview with Fox, the singer confessed that she weighed 103 pounds at the time but was told to lose 10 pounds and that she was an embarrassment to her family.

Osmond did as she was told, and in an attempt to reach her goal faster, she said she tried every diet that existed; one of them included starving herself for three days and drinking a cup of lemon water mixed in with cayenne pepper and maple syrup.

The singer went down to 93 pounds without realizing how traumatic those harsh words about her weight would continue to affect her in her adult life. However, after her mother died, Osmond said she let go of herself and started eating more from the fatigue and stress she suffered.

Her mother's death felt like a reason for Osmond to give herself a mental and physical break from diets, but it downed on her how much weight she had gained.

Osmond blames most of her physical insecurities on the entertainment industry. She compared herself to thinner bodies and felt stupid for trying to be what she was not.

The talk show host said there was not enough information on staying in shape, so every time she shed weight, she regained it when she stopped her diet.

Therefore, Osmond made it her mission to find a plan that worked for her and brought her joy. She wanted to live a healthy lifestyle, and she knew she would be the one to break the cycle.

Marie Osmond Opens Up About Her Battle with Weight Loss

Osmond described herself as an "odd celebrity" because she has been a part of different projects, is well-traveled, and is the kind of celebrity that loves her home life.

She is particularly happy at home with her children cooking them meals, chasing them to make their beds, and cleaning up her house.

Additionally, Osmond loves being a grandmother and babysitting her grandchildren. As much as she might have gotten a thrill from the 18 hours days of working back in the day, her family has remained the number one priority.

Osmond is not concerned about maintaining a celebrities status because, at the bottom of it, she is still a person. The singer said, "God doesn't care if we're celebrities. He cares about who you are and what you do for others."

The "Paper Roses" star had a few wake-up calls from her family that made her take her health journey seriously. Osmond is the only girl out of eight brothers, and she remembered that the last thing her mother told her was to treat her body better than she did hers.

The singer is also a mother of eight, and one of her sons gave her an intervention and said, "Mom, you're all we have. We can't lose you. I don't want to hurt your feelings, but you've got to lose weight." It was hurtful to hear those words from her child, but it made her understand that her health affected everyone around her.

Osmond started to analyze her family's history with weight and realized that most women put on weight around their stomach, and died in their 60s from heart disease. She confessed that she had all the signs, but she was also the only one there to change the narrative.

However, the journey was not easy; Osmond gained more weight after the birth of her lastborn and while she went through a divorce. Therefore, between working and being a mother of eight, the singer spent her days tired and not paying attention to what she was eating.
