Alexander John Appeared in Tom Ford's Life in 2012

Before Alexander was born, his father said he would keep the newest addition to the family's life out of the spotlight and private.

Tom added Alexander would only be seen when he turns 18. While opening up about fatherhood during an interview, Alexander's dad said his son has quite a long name and prefers to call him Jack.

According to reports, Alexander was born via surrogacy and is the first child of Ford and Buckley, who were together for 35 years until Buckley's demise. The couple met when Ford was 25 and Buckley was 38.

Alexander John's Appearance Has Tom Thinking about the World in 2070

Ever since Tom became a father, he has seen the world differently. The fashion designer explained that he no longer considers the world infinite but sees himself as a link in the chain. Tom says that Alexander's arrival has extended an impact beyond his life at home.

In a new interview, Tom opened up about life after his husband died. His death was a hard blow for him as the two were together for 35 years.

Alexander's dad said that in 2070, his son would be his age and that there would be a significant culture change at that time. He added that his son's generation is different and that the things he grew up doing won't mean anything to Alexander. He said that through his son, he's been able to see where the world is today.

Tom Ford Cares about His Son's Style

Alexander's father has strict wardrobe rules for his only child. In an interview, while opening up about his daily routine as a single father, he disclosed that he doesn't allow his son to wear shorts to school:

''You know, I don't let Jack wear shorts to school, and the other kids are in shorts. On the one hand, I feel that maybe I have to give into it just because I don't want him to be ostracized because he doesn't have on shorts.''

Alexander's father revealed that he told his son when he turns 18, he can wear whatever he likes. The fashion designer has since gone easy on his son and now allows him to wear T-shirts with printed stuff on them.

Alexander John Lost One of His Parents When He Was 9 Years Old

In a new interview, Tom opened up about life after his husband died. His death was a hard blow for him as the two were together for 35 years; Tom and Buckley tied the knot in 2014. Buckley died in September 2021, aged 72, leaving behind his partner and their 10-year-old son, Alexander.

Alexander's dad said that it was difficult adjusting to everything after his partner died. He added that Buckley used to make their son's breakfast during school days. Now that Tom Ford is a widower, he has learned to do some things on his own, like making Alexander's breakfast and driving him to school.
