Arlo Day Brody's Mother Rarely Talks about Her despite Being Proud of Her

Adam Brody and Leighton Meester became parents for the first time when their daughter, Arlo Day Brody, was born. However, they prefer to keep their baby girl away from the spotlight as much as possible.

Adam and Meester have been together for over a decade and were married in 2014. During that time, they began building their family and were blessed with a daughter in 2015.

However, People magazine reported that the couple welcomed their first child on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. The baby girl was born in Whittier, California, and named Arlo Day Brody.

Despite not confirming the pregnancy and birth of their daughter, her mom had spoken about having children before Arlo Day was conceived. She mentioned that many people she knew were getting married and having children -- she liked the idea. Hence, after marrying in 2014, having kids would have been one of their resolutions.

Arlo Day Brody's Parents Began Dating Several Years after They Met

Although many believe that Adam and Meester first met on the set of "The Oranges," they had met a few years earlier. According to Adam, their first encounter was at Canter's, which he frequented, and the "Gossip Girl" actors and actresses were eating there.

Josh Schwartz, who produced "Gossip Girl" and "The O.C'' — starring Meester and Adam, respectively — introduced Adam to the whole "Gossip Girl" group. They met again on the set of "The Oranges" but did not start dating until a year after the movie was completed.

They had their first outing as a couple at the premiere of "Some Girl(s)" in June 2013, where they walked arm in arm. A few months later, in November 2013, the lovers got engaged. They exchanged vows in a private ceremony in February 2014.

Arlo Day Brody's Views on Parenting

Leighton Meester got to put her parenting skills on display when she starred in the Netflix film, "The Weekend Away." The mother of two, who is quite hushed about her parenting and children, expressed excitement about playing a mother and reminisced on some of her experiences.

In the film, she portrays a new mother whose trip to Croatia ends in tragedy, and she is forced to spend a lot of time away from her child. Meester said that such an experience — being away from your child for so long — would drive her crazy.

Furthermore, the actress explained her reasons for refraining from showing off Arlo Day, saying, "I don't talk about Arlo very much. I am very proud of that area of my life. But I am also proud of the show and of the work I do." Therefore, she prefers to talk about her work rather than her personal life.

Arlo Can Often Be Seen Hanging Around with Her Parents

Despite keeping a low profile, Arlo is seen with her parents sometimes, usually spotted by the paparazzi. In April 2020, the couple was seen taking a stroll in Los Angeles. Arlo was being pushed in a baby stroller by her father while her mother, who spotted a baby bump, walked alongside.

The family was pictured again in Los Angeles in September of the same year. They were on a shopping run at the mall, perhaps for new baby clothes, as Meester did not have the baby bump anymore. Therefore, their second child was born between April and September 2020. Arlo walked on her own alongside her parents.

In October 2020, Arlo's parents took her to lunch around Los Angeles's Pacific Palisades neighborhood. Their bonding trip came just after the city had eased up on Covid restrictions that saw people having to shelter in place for a few months. Nevertheless, the spotting of Arlo has remained a once-in-a-while phenomenon.

Arlo Has a Younger Brother

The Brody family extended the number of people in their brood to four after welcoming a second child. Much like what they did with the first, the second child was kept away from the public, and nothing much is known about him, not even his name. Only his mother's growing baby bump was evidence of his coming.

The second child's birth was speculated after Leighton Meester's baby bump had disappeared. Adam later confirmed they had a new child when he said, "Since last I played, I have a new kid" during The Fun Time Boys Game Night Spectacular on Twitch.

Arlo and her younger sibling have been a well-kept secret by their parents, who think it is essential for their children to have privacy. They rarely discuss them in interviews and seldom show them to the world in person or on their social media accounts.
