April Woodson and Husband Charles Woodson Have Been Happily Married for 13 Years: Inside Their Family
Charles Woodson and his wife, April, often take to social media to celebrate each other on special occasions, including celebrating over ten years of marriage.
After a successful career as a professional football player in high school and university, Charles became one of the most well-known defensive quarterbacks in the NFL.
Charles was a highly decorated athlete when he decided to hang up his cleats and retire. He had played professional football for nearly twenty years when he announced 2015 would be his last season.
Charles had over two hundred thousand followers on Instagram at the time of publication and shared pictures and videos of his life in retirement and his family. And while he no longer played football, he ventured into other business opportunities like running a vineyard.
13 Years Together and "Forever to Go"
In November 2021, April and Charles celebrated 12 years of marriage. In a post that received over three thousand likes at the time of writing, April shared a picture of her and the former NFL player on her Instagram.
Charles and April wore smiles in the photo, and she wrote in the caption, "12 years down and forever to go." In February 2021, April celebrated Charles' induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2021 and detailed to fans how proud she was of her husband's accomplishment. April said:
"I am so proud of this man. His big heart, great work ethic, self-discipline, and unwavering grit are just a few of the reasons that he is now an inductee for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2021."
From birthday wishes to anniversary celebrations, April and Charles often share moments from their lives with their fans. In early January 2021, they welcomed the new year together and posted a video of them emerging from silver streamers and balloons.
Son Follows Dad's Footsteps
Charles played football at the University of Michigan for three years before going pro and signing for the Oakland Raiders and Green Bay Packers.
As an inductee into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and Mr. Football during his high school days in Ohio, Charles was one proud father watching his son follow in his footsteps.
In May 2021, Charles shared a clip of his youngest son showing his skill on the football field. In the video, Charles can be heard cheering on his son as he moves through the opposing team's defense with ease. "Rumble, young man, rumble!" Charles shouted from the crowd.
Charles and April have welcomed two sons, their eldest, Charles Jr., and their youngest, Chase. In June, she took to social media to celebrate Charles on Father's Day and posted a picture of him and their sons in matching black outfits.
The former NFL player and his boys stood in front of a backdrop of the beach with their hands in their pockets, and in the caption, April wrote:
"To the world, you are a dad. To our family, you are the world."
Charles Woodson Is the Co-owner of a Winery
Like Drew Barrymore, Charles is another celebrity to own a vineyard. In 2001, he partnered with Rick Ruiz to run Charles Woodson Wines. Located in Napa Valley, Charles and Rick's first wine produced at their vineyard were donation bottles of merlot.
In 2022, Charles took to Instagram to share that Wine Spectator named his 2020 Chardonnay in their Top 100 Wines of the Year list. In an Instagram post in May, Charles revealed that his love for wine began in Napa Valley, what he called "the most magical place in the world."
