Christina Applegate Turns 51 — She's 'Blessed Every Day' to Have Daughter Who 'Healed' Her & Made Life Better

While Christina Applegate celebrated her 51st birthday in November 2022, in the past, she'd overcome many life challenges with her husband and daughter by her side. The actress also once changed her lifestyle for her daughter, who was "everything" to her and "healed" her in "so many ways."

On November 25, 2022, Christina Applegate turned 51 and had her beautiful family to celebrate her birthday with. Reaching that milestone was a big deal as the actress had overcome some trying challenges in the past.

They included undergoing a double mastectomy, surviving cancer, and having multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis. Despite experiencing medical issues, nothing could underplay the gratitude and joy the star felt for her only child and daughter, Sadie Grace LeNoble.

The actress shared Sadie with Martyn LeNoble, her second husband. The "Dead to Me" star and the music band founder began dating after Applegate divorced her first husband, Johnathon Schaech.

She and Shaech married in 2001 and divorced in 2007. Applegate and Martyn became an official couple in 2009 after being diagnosed with cancer, and she revealed that the bass player became an essential part of her life.

In 2013, she told a publication how the Dutch musician became her most significant support system during that trying time. The actress said she didn't think she would've gone through any of it without Sadie's father.

She revealed how the singer arrived when she was experiencing a lot of loss in her life and had been incredibly helpful. In 2010, on Valentine's Day, the duo got engaged, and before getting married, they welcomed their daughter in 2011.

The couple only tied the knot in February 2013. Welcoming her only child improved Applegate's life, and she once detailed the transition to a publication revealing Sadie's impact.

How Christina's Daughter Healed Her "In So Many Ways"?

After welcoming Sadie in January 2011, Applegate told a magazine that her daughter had given her a new focus - motherhood. The "She Sells Sanctuary" star went on to explain how her child, who was 11 in 2022, had changed her life, stating:

"She's healed me in so many ways. She's just made my life so much better. She's opened my whole soul."

While Applegate credited her husband for being her constant in his support, she said Sadie had "healed [her] in so many ways." The star shared that her daughter had improved her life, expressing how sad she'd been for a long time and that the child had "just opened my soul."

The "Vacation" actress confessed that she never realized she was missing out until she held her baby for the first time. She described Sadie as a puzzle piece that wasn't there before but was there now.

Applegate revealed how it was a renewal and how the child was her beginning. When she was honored with a star on the Walk of Fame in November 2022, the actress thanked her daughter for bringing light into her life.

The "Married with Children" star told those gathered that Sadie was the most important person in her world. She said her child was more than she ever knew, was beautiful, loving, kind, interesting, and intelligent, before adding:

"I'm blessed every day that I get to wake up and take you to school. You are my everything. Thank you for standing by me through all of this."

Martyn's wife also told Variety that getting a star on the Walk of Fame was more about what it would mean to her daughter. "The Anchorman" actress, whose life altered drastically after motherhood, noted how the star would be there forever and that it was something Sadie could go see when she was gone.

How Did Christina's Life Change after She Became a Mother?

Sadie was born on January 27, 2011, at a Los Angeles hospital. Applegate chose to spend more time with her family after becoming a mother instead of focusing on her career to avoid missing out on her daughter's milestones.

The "Sweetest Thing" star worked less as she tried to be more present by cutting out any bad stuff and not stressing about her work schedule. She explained how she also used to stress a lot but wasn't anymore as she tried to find the silver lining in everything.

Martyn's wife struggled to balance things, but her child was never affected because she always gave her more than 100%. The actress wasn't keen on quitting her job, but she would choose her daughter over it all!

Applegate once admitted that Sadie was her purpose as she was the thing she'd contributed to the world. The star also revealed that her role on "Dead to Me" could be her last one because of her MS.

She confessed that she didn't know what she was capable of because of the disease. However, if she quit acting, she'd have more time to spend with Sadie, who's always been by her side.
