Keegan Hawk Is One of Tony Hawk's Sons with His Second Ex-wife Erin Lee
Keegan Hawk, Tony Hawk's son, showed the apple did not fall far from the tree when it came to his talent on the skateboard. However, unlike his older brother, he chose a different career path than his father's.
Tony has been the face of skateboarding since the 1990s and has become a household name despite his retirement in 2003. He used his success from his years as a professional skateboarder to launch his own video game, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, and start his skateboarding company, Birdhouse.
In his private life, Tony is a father to four children. During his second marriage, he welcomed two sons, Spencer and Keegan.
Despite having a famous father, Keegan avoids the limelight for the most part. He set his Instagram account to private at the time of writing, and Keegan kept his social circle small, with just over a thousand followers.
Keegan Hawk Is a Skateboard Prodigy in the Family
Keegan is the second youngest of his siblings and was born on July 18, 2001. During his appearance on the Misfits Podcast, Keegan revealed that he loved skateboarding just like his father, referring to it as a " serious relationship he's been in for over ten years."
Keegan's father took to social media on July 2019 to document his son's talent on a board and showed Keegan attempting a 360 flip down a flight of stairs.
In a slow-motion video, Keegan flipped his board mid-air and almost landed the trick before slightly losing his balance and taking a small plunge to the ground. According to his father, Keegan was disappointed in himself for not sticking the landing.
His perseverance saw him stay in the skatepark until he was exhausted, although his father had tried to encourage him to call it a day sooner. In the caption, Tony wrote:
"Watching and filming my son try 360 flips down these stairs was a stark reminder of what I must have put my parents through. These are the life lessons that will endure, and I'm thankful to see them from the other side now."
However, Keegan said he had not set his sights on following in his father's footsteps and pursuing skateboarding professionally, or at least not at that point in his life. Instead, Keegan became a landscape photographer.
Tony Hawk and Keegan's Mother Are Divorced
Keegan's parents married on September 28, 1996. By 1999, they had their first child, Keegan's older brother Spencer. However, his father's success was at its peak during this time, and Tony's career saw him traveling frequently. Keegan's father spending less time at home with his family led to his parents' divorce in 2004.
Keegan Has Three Siblings
Keegan's eldest brother is Riley, and Tony welcomed him during his first marriage to Cindy Dunbar. Riley also had a passion for skateboarding and went pro in 2013 after Skateboarder Magazine named him Best Amateur that same year.
He features in his father's video game and doubles as a skateboarder and a musician. His punk band has two albums to their name, and in January, Riley was romantically linked to Kurt Cobain's daughter Frances Bean Cobain.
Tony's second son is Spencer. He chose to pursue a career as a music producer over skateboarding and enrolled at Berklee College of Music. He goes by his stage name, Gupi, and with successful albums and EPs under his belt, artists like Skrillex and Deadau5 inspired his music.
Although he has cemented himself in the music industry, he revealed that he still had trouble shaking the title of "Tony Hawk's son." Spencer said:
"I want people to know me for me and not as Tony Hawk's son because that's just been my whole life. I try to not let it drive me as crazy as it does because I know where other people are coming from, but it does get to me a little bit."
After Keegan was born, his father married for the third time and welcomed his younger sister, Kadence Clover Hawk. She showed an interest in skateboarding as well, although Tony suspected it was more of a daddy-daughter bonding experience.
