Tom Jones can rely on the support of his son after he lost his wife, with whom he was together for 59 years.
Welsh singer Tom Jones has had a prolific music career and is known primarily for his performance range in soul, pop, country, and R&B. His major hits include "Green Green Grass of Home," "It's Not Unusual," and "She's A Lady," among others.
The Award-winning singer has had a good run in the industry, but in 2017 he had to undergo hip replacement surgery. It turned out well, but still, the singer had to sometimes use a cane for support during concerts.
He disclosed that he was often forced to sit down for three-quarters of his performances and was buying time until he had a second surgery that would fix his hip once and for all.
Six years after his first surgery, the singer finally had his second hip replacement surgery. He updated his fans on his Twitter page, writing that the recent operation had gone well and he hoped to be back on stage soon. He wrote:
"Papa has two new hips now!"
He then asked all concerned about his health that he was following the doctor's orders and was doing physiotherapy to allow for quicker recovery. He also confessed he was "so happy" to say he would soon return to performing.
Jones admits that he was previously worried that fans would not appreciate his shows if he performed sitting down. However, his son, who has also been his manager for a long time, told him not to worry about it reassuring him that he would get a better review sitting down than he would get standing up.

Despite his recent health woes, the singer, whose nickname is "silver fox," has had a successful career, from hitting it big in the sixties to rocking with the likes of Elvis Presley and even getting knighted by the Queen.

However, his most precious achievements remain his family. The singer is the father of one with his late wife, Linda Trenchard. Linda had been Jones' high school girlfriend, having fallen for her when they were only 12 and attending school in Treforest South Glamorgan. He recalls:
"We grew up together and we loved one another ever since we saw one another."

The pair married in 1957 at only 17 and soon after, they welcomed their only child together, Mark Woodward. Today, Jones is also a grandfather of two, Alex and Emma. Before carving himself a career in music, Jones worked in a glove factory but later took up a job in construction.
However, in the early 60s, Jones' fate changed after he became a frontman for Tommy Scott and the Senators. His voice often described as a full-throated and robust baritone, saw him conquer the industry and rise to become one of the most celebrated singers today.

He thanks his wife for always being by his side through all adversities. Whatever Jones chose to do to support his family, Linda was behind him 100 percent. He recalls:
"She said, 'whatever I've got to do to help you get to where you want to go, or where we want to go, I will do it, we will do it.'"
Tom Jones Pays Tribute to His Wife of 59 Years
Jones and Linda's marriage was marred with challenges, from infidelity claims, some of which Jones admitted to, to numerous other marital problems.

Even so, Jones admits that Linda was his one true love, and despite his shortcomings, they had a beautiful union. He was thus devastated when Linda passed away tragically in 2016 after a short battle with lung cancer.
Following her diagnosis the same year, Jones and Mark remained by her side until her last days. Jones recalls her as the calmest person in the room while he and Mark were going crazy with worry.
Years after her passing, Jones reflects on their 59 years of marriage and is grateful that he got to share his life with her. He wishes she was still here with him and that they got the chance to grow old together. "There was one love of my life, and that was Linda." He says.
