Her grandson was named after her late husband, which she didn't expect.

Kathie lives in a giant house where she made a nursery room for her grandson.

Kathie Lee Gifford, the famous TV host, became a grandmother on May 31, 2022. Her oldest child and father of the new baby, Cody Gifford, is married to Erika Brown. Cody's mom was surprised to learn they had named the boy after his late grandfather, Frank Gifford.

The boy, Frank Micheal Gifford, got his middle name from Erika's Uncle, who sadly passed away in 2021. Frank is the pair's firstborn since they married in 2020, and although he was born three weeks early, Kathie revealed the latest addition to the Gifford family is big, strong, and healthy.

The former co-host of "Today! with Hoda Kotb" recently opened up about her own love life after staying quiet about it for a long time. After the death of her husband in 2015, she admitted she refrains from speaking about her love life to keep things special.

Being in Nashville has also allowed Kathie to spend more time with her family, and she loves fussing over her new grandson.

Kathie was married to her husband Frank for more than a decade until he passed away at the age of 84, and her life has been marked by changes since then. She found new love and also decided to move to Nashville to be closer to her family, finding happiness in her new home.

Kathie first met her husband, Frank, four years after her first marriage ended. The TV personality had been married to Paul Johnson, a publisher of Christian music. The two went their separate ways in 1976, and Kathie eventually met Frank. Kathie started dating the NFL player, and in 1986, the two decided to tie the knot.

Kathie and Frank welcomed their first baby, their son Cody Gifford, in March 1990. Shortly after the birth of their son, Kathie and Frank welcomed their daughter, Cassidy Gifford. Both Cody and Cassidy have started families of their own, and Cody named his firstborn son after his father, who tragically passed away in 2015.

Following the death of her husband, Kathie has been living life to the full. The TV personality has bought a new home and moved to Nashville, where she is exploring new hobbies and working on a range of different projects. Kathie has written a book in recent years and has proved herself to be a capable singer.

Kathie decided it was time to take a break from her fast-paced life in California and trade it for something quieter in Tennessee. She also found that life in Nashville can be very fulfilling, and she has found the time and space necessary to help her write new music and direct the film "The Way."

Kathie "Loves" Being a Grandma at 69

Being in Nashville has also allowed Kathie to spend more time with her family, and she loves fussing over her new grandson. The TV host does her best to spend as much time with little "Frankie" as possible. She goes to see him whenever she's not promoting her latest projects. Sharing her thoughts on becoming a grandmother, she said:

"I knew I was going to love Frank instantly because I love babies. But this is my son's child — my husband's son's son — it's all such a beautiful tapestry of life and creation."

More recently, Kathie has welcomed another little one into the fold. Cassidy and her husband, Ben Weirda, shared an image on Instagram announcing the birth of their new baby on June 30, 2023. The snapshot showed a newborn's tiny feet supported by his mother's hand. The caption read, "Our whole entire world."

Cassidy also revealed that they chose to name the baby boy Finn Thomas Wierda and gushed about how much they adore their new child. The new mother couldn't stop admiring their baby boy and expressed how thankful she is that they could bring little Finn safely into the world. She also referred to Finn as a "most precious gift."

Cassidy and her husband, Ben, first announced that they were expecting their first baby six months after Cody and his wife brought their baby boy, Frank, into the world. Cassidy shared the news via Instagram, posting a picture of three Christmas stockings hanging above a hearth, and sharing the happy news with her followers.

A short time after first announcing their pregnancy, Cassidy showed her baby bump for the very first time. The entire family was waiting patiently for the arrival of the newest member while Cody and his wife had their hands full raising their brand-new baby boy. Cassidy and Ben's baby came two years after they tied the knot in 2020.

Kathie opened up about when she gave birth to her beloved daughter, Cassidy, and said Cody couldn't stop kissing his sister's little head. What she finds precious now is how her son is kissing his own son's head, and she reflected on the "beauty" of life and how things turn out in the long run.

Since moving to Tennessee, Kathie is happier than she has been in a long time.

Cassidy has also spoken out about having Cody as a brother, sharing her appreciation for her sibling in an Instagram post. The post consisted of a snapshot of Cassidy and Cody as little children, embracing each other with large smiles on their faces. Cassidy praised her brother for his many positive traits and wished him a happy birthday.

When it comes to having a good role model for being a mother, Cassidy has one of the best. The new mother can rest easy knowing she has her own mother to help out with anything that might go wrong. When Cassidy's brother welcomed his first child, Kathie stepped into the role of grandmother with ease.

Kathie even has a nursery in her home to accommodate her grandkids whenever her children visit her. She converted her late mother's room into an animal-themed room for the slew of new babies, and the whole family was glad to see it used for a new family member. Kathie shared:

"[Erica] made it very animal-centric. It's basically beige and white, and it'll work for any baby that comes along the way now. Hopefully it'll be the family nursery until I need bunk beds. We'll get to that when it happens."

With her daughter-in-law's interior design skills, Kathie made the perfect room for little Frank, who she called a "wonderment." The "Live with Regis and Kathie Lee" alum said she loves being a grandmother and described the experience as "beautiful." She dotes on the newborn and gushes about how great he is.

News about the birth of Kathie's first grandson broke after Cody's wife, Erika Gifford, shared a picture of her and her husband with their new baby. The image showed Cody taking a picture of his wife with their newborn while beaming with happiness. Erika could be seen cradling the new baby boy in the background. She wrote:

"Best day of our lives. At a whopping 8lbs 8oz three weeks early, Frank Michael Gifford, 'Frankie' has changed our lives forever. We have not stopped bursting with so much love and gratitude for God's most precious gifft (sic)."

Erika also noted that they chose baby Frank's name in honor of two men. Firt, the baby shares a name with Cody's late father, while his second name, Michael, is meant to honor Erika's late uncle. She also noted that Michael means "gift from God," and she is happy that she had the chance to name her new son after two men she admired.

She Enjoys Life at a Giant Home

Since moving to Tennessee, Kathie is happier than she has been in a long time. The star relocated to a 7,965-square-foot home right outside Nashville in a town called Franklin. According to her, the community is a large part of what she loves about her new home:

"First of all, there is a different culture — completely different culture down there, and it's a culture of kindness in Nashville. And they are authentically kind. They are joyful, they have so much fun. Music everywhere. There are barbecues. Everything is Americana, like when I was growing up."

It's here where Kathie has found a new community of creatives who share her passion for all things art. Kathie has expanded her horizons in the years after her husband's death, writing and publishing a book on religion and working on a slew of new songs. She also enjoys entertaining her new group of friends in her beautiful new home.

Kathy moved from her previous home after her husband passed away. In the time she spent following his death, she was lonely, and staying in the house that held so many memories of her departed partner made everything worse. Kathie decided to move to Nashville after his death, where she built a new life. She explained:

"This home of mine in Connecticut, where Frank and I raised our beautiful children and we had so many happy years … it went from being the most teeming, thrilling, joyful, all the dog sounds, the kid sounds, the smoke in the grill and, you know … it just was life."

At 69, Kathie feels good again. Her new home, a two-story brownstone mansion, is beautiful. The house has ample space, with a number of bedrooms and bathrooms. Kathie also has a white-themed kitchen, a handy basement, and serene areas outside. There's even a big fireplace and a big dinner table.

Throughout the house, the counters are made of polished granite, and the kitchen cabinets are white-painted wood. Elaborate chandeliers hang in many of the rooms, and the walls are lined with glass-paned doors and large windows to let the sunlight in. In her office, big wooden bookcases hold her many trophies.

Recovering from the death of her husband has been hard on Kathie, but her new home and her hobbies have helped her turn things around. She spends her days working on new projects and caring for her beloved dogs. She also loves having her kids over, and she Facetimes with little Frank whenever she can.

The TV personality has also reportedly found new love after losing her beloved Frank. Although she hasn't shared her new partner's name, the TV personality has noted that she has found happiness in Nashville after losing the man she had spent her life with. Although she has moved on, she still remains close with her old friends.

Hoda Kotb, whom Kathie had worked with for a long stint in her career, has visited her old friend in her Nashville home. Kathie apparently gushed about her new home to her old friend, admonishing Nashville for its friendly culture and warm residents. It also helps that she has her new "special relationship" to keep her company.

Kathie's new home offers enough space to entertain her growing family and large pool of friends. The TV host shared pictures of her family coming to visit her in her new house. With numerous bedrooms and baths, Kathie had no problem housing both Cody, his sister, Cassidy, and their spouses.

The snap Kathie took of her children showed the four of them sitting by a granite-top bar enjoying cheese and wine. Besides a stunning interior, Kathie's new house also has ample space to enjoy the Nashville sunlight. The TV personality shared a snap of her and her dog relaxing out on her spacious patio.

Kathie's impressive new home isn't the only property she acquired in Nashville. When she moved to Tenessee, she initially bought a smaller house, where she settled for a while. Eventually, she spotted the house she now lives in, and Kathie knew she had to have it. With her family slowly multiplying, it seems she made the right choice.
