Minnie Ida Anderson Had a Chance to Act Alongside Her Famous Mother – Facts about Maya Rudolph's Daughter
With two parents in the film industry, Minnie Ida Anderson, Maya Rudolph's daughter, has already tried her hand at acting alongside Hollywood stars. While Minnie Ida is still only starting her potential acting career, her mother said working with her children was "magical."
Aside from having a famous mother, Minnie Ida's father, Paul Thomas Anderson, is also a well-known and award-winning director.
And it was a family affair when Minnie Ida and her siblings showed the apple did not fall far from the tree when they appeared in their father's film alongside their mom.

Minnie Ida's Birth
Minnie Ida was born in September 2013 after her parents had previously welcomed three children. Sources suspected Maya was pregnant with Minnie Ida in February 2013, but the actress chose to confirm the news during an appearance on the "Ellen DeGeneres Show."
Maya and her longtime partner were 43 when Minnie Ida was born, and Maya's "Grown Ups" co-star Salma Hayek humorously shared that Maya had no plans of expanding her family before Minnie Ida's birth. Selma said:
"I remember last summer she said, 'I can't believe I'm having three children. I'm never doing this again.'"

Minnie Already Has an Acting Credit
In 2021, Minnie Ida starred alongside her actress mother in "Licorice Pizza," which was also written and directed by her father. Minnie Ida's first acting credit also included impressive names in the Hollywood acting scene, like Bradley Copper and Sean Penn.
Minnie Ida's acting opportunity in "Licorice Pizza" came about during Covid-19. She and her siblings were attending school via Zoom sessions, and her father's film was a welcomed opportunity.

Maya revealed her knack for performing rubbed off on Minnie Ida and her siblings as they loved performing – however, their mother was usually a spectator. When asked about the experience of acting alongside her Minnie Ida and her siblings, Maya said:
"That was actually a magical thing."
While Minnie Ida's mother made a name for herself as a comedic star, the actress said her children had not seen half of her cinematic projects.
They had more of an interest in music. During the lockdown, Maya encouraged Minnie Ida and her siblings to pick up an instrument which led to constant live performances in the Rudolph/Anderson home.

It was a hidden talent Minnie Ida and her siblings kept to themselves for the most part, but their mother noticed their musical gifts that she said superseded hers.
Minnie's Parents Are Both Celebrities
Maya spent multiple years on "Saturday Night Live," where she rubbed shoulders with other comedy giants like Tina Fey and Kristen Wiig. Before Maya welcomed Minnie Ida and her siblings, the actress revealed that "SNL" had been her top priority.
The actress shared that it was difficult to maintain relationships with other people and perform on the live show due to how demanding the series was.

Although she never thought she would be a mother of four in her wildest dreams, the actress considered herself "lucky" to have Minnie Ida and her siblings. Maya said:
"I never imagined I'd have four kids — that was never the goal. I feel really lucky that everyone is healthy and amazing."
Minnie Ida's parents have been in a long-term relationship since 2001. Although they have not made it down the aisle, Maya said she stopped calling Paul her boyfriend after they had children.
Minnie Ida's father is an acclaimed director for his work in films such as "Boogie Nights," "Magnolia" and "There Will Be Blood." With 11 Academy Award nominations under his belt, The Guardian named him the best director in the world.

Minnie Ida Is the Youngest of the Brood
Minnie Ida's siblings include two sisters and a brother. Maya Rudolph welcomed Minnie Ida's eldest sister, Pearl Minnie Anderson, on October 15, 2005, who received her second name in honor of her late grandmother.
Minnie Ida's second eldest sister, Lucille Anderson, was born on November 6, 2009, in Los Angeles, and her brother, Jack Anderson, followed on July 3, 2011.
