While Zach Galifianakis has become a household name since his role in "The Hangover," he was not always so fortunate. At one point in his life, the actor had no money and was a struggling artist.

However, he built an excellent Hollywood career and secretly dated his wife, Quinn. Quinn is now known to the public and has helped Galifianakis handle his career and raise his family.

Galifianakis said that when he was still trying to get his career off the ground, he was not thinking about dating. Although women came in and out of his life, he never had a serious girlfriend.

Talking about why he was never in a serious relationship before he had enough money and a good job, the actor said:

However, he did not reveal many details about how he and Quinn met or their relationship until they got married. The pair tied the knot in August 2012 in a relatively short, low-key ceremony.

Guests revealed that on the wedding invite, Galifianakis drew a sketch that showed him as strange looking and his wife as a gorgeous bride. Everyone said that the invite reflected Galifianakis' personality perfectly.

Galifianakis' bride is a Hunter College graduate who obtained a degree in conflict resolution. She has volunteered in Africa, Bosnia, and Afghanistan with UNICEF and is a former ballerina.

The couple is perfectly matched, and it was said that their wedding ceremony lasted for half an hour. They also requested that their guests not buy them any gifts and instead made a donation to an organization close to Quinn's heart.

Quinn has an organization based in Brooklyn. The organization helps domestic violence victims in North Carolina. The organization also helps rural education in Malawi. The couple asked that donations to be made to the organization in honor of their wedding.

Galifianakis Has an Enviable Family

While Galifianakis now has a beautiful family of his own, he also came from a great family. It has been said that Galifianakis' family was enviable. Matthew Weiner, the director of Galifianakis' film "You Are Here," said:

"I could see he has a great family, and of course, his mother is really funny... and his dad is (so) gregarious. It's a very loving family. I was kind of jealous."

Galifianakis took the loving and fun side of his parents and channeled them into being a husband and father. When "You Are Here" premiered, the entire cast gathered to attend the premiere events.

However, Galifianakis was notably absent. Soon after their 2012 wedding, Galifianakis and Quinn started trying for a baby. Quinn was pregnant when the film premiered, and Galifianakis stayed home.

He wanted to be with his pregnant wife and said that although he felt bad about not attending the premiere, his family was what was most important to him. He did not want to risk not being in town if his wife went into labor.

The couple had kept Quinn's pregnancy a secret, but Galifianakis told Weiner he would not be at the premiere so he could be with Quinn. A source said that everyone knew Galifianakis would be a great father.

Zach Galifianakis' Fatherhood

Galifianakis became a father in 2013 but rarely talks about his children and tries his best to keep his children out of the public eye. He also does not discuss his job with his children or anyone else unless he's being interviewed.

The actor shared a sweet anecdote about his children not knowing about his job. He said they did not often react when they saw his face on billboards in public. However, when his young son once saw his face on a bus, the toddler sighed.

He said he didn't want to give his children "Hollywood names." He then joked that he gave his son a hybrid name between Jay Leno and Jared Leto but then confirmed that his second son's name was Rufus. The name of his first child has still not been revealed.

Talking about his children, Galifianakis often jokes about their upbringing. When asked about the gender of his child, he said they wouldn't find out until the child was sixteen, and he was just calling the child "it" in the meantime.

While Galifianakis jokes about his children's upbringing, he takes parenting very seriously. He confessed:

"I think fatherhood is just the greatest thing. It really, really is."

Although Galifianakis has not revealed the name of his first child, it has been said that his youngest child's full name is Rufus Emmanuel Lundberg. The young boy shared his mother's surname and did not take his father's surname.

While Galifianakis is proud of his wife and children, they are not often seen out in public together. In fact, each time he is seen out with his wife and children, it often ends up in the headlines.

The couple keeps the privacy of their children front-of-mind at all times, and since his children have become older, Galifianakis has not been seen out in public with his children. The last time he was publicly seen with his child was in 2018.

Before that, he also took his eldest son out once or twice, but his face was never revealed as he was always in a stroller or car seat covered over with a blanket. He is also rarely seen out with his wife.

While Zach Galifianakis keeps his life private, his character, Alan, from "The Hangover," has become enormously popular over the years. So much so that a former hotel manager has even made a career from impersonating the character.
