According to reports, Dukagjin tried to get his daughter to perform at the world cup 2020 by negotiating with Qataris for nearly two years.

In 2020, Dukagjin made his first attempt to speak with Qatar's World Cup Organizing body about bringing Dua on board to perform at the World cup. He later stated that his daughter wasn't aware of his contact with Qataris.

The revelation came after Dua dismissed the rumors about her performing at the world cup opening ceremony. The pop star also said that she was not involved in any negotiations concerning the matter.
