It appears famed country crooner, Blake Shelton, has settled into his new life as a husband and a stepfather of three. Shelton has gradually traded his thriving career for being a devoted family man.

The TV personality was born in Ada, Oklahoma, on June 18, 1976. His father was a used-car dealer, and his mother was a beauty salon owner.

Shelton first rose to prominence as a renowned country singer, then later gained mainstream attention as a beloved coach on the singing competition "The Voice" in 2011 until now.

His love for songwriting and performing began in high school and was discovered during one performance by an established songwriter, Mae Boren Axton. Axton lauded young Shelton for his talent and encouraged him.

Only two weeks after the future Hollywood star graduated from high school in 1994, he moved to Nashville, where Axton also happened to live. She helped him get a job as a painter and eventually introduced him to people in the music industry.

Things started to look up for Shelton in 1997 when he met producer and fellow songwriter Bobby Braddock, who became instrumental in landing him a recording deal with Giant Records.

In 2001, the then-up-and-coming star recorded his most successful song, "Austin," and the record company released it to country radio stations. The single quickly climbed to No.1 on Billboard's country singles and 18 on the Hot 100 listing.

However, when Giant Records folded, Warner Brothers stepped in and picked up Shelton's contract. In July 2001, the company released his debut album, and it became the number three country album.

Shelton Being a Husband with Three Stepkids

After becoming a household name, Shelton went on to marry three times. He is now married to his third wife, pop singer Gwen Stefani, and is a stepfather to her three sons, Kingston, Apollo, and Zuma.

The Hollywood pair have been a couple for seven years, and when asked how they have managed to keep their relationship going for nearly a decade, Shelton admitted: "I don't know what the secret is." His spouse shared the same sentiments, adding they are "best friends."

Meanwhile, their fellow "The Voice" coach, and musician, John Legend, noted that just from being around the lovebirds, he could tell "they genuinely like each other."

Stefani and Shelton met in 2014 while working together as coaches on "The Voice" during the show's seventh season. They were married to other people then, but their marriages were on the brink of divorce.

The duo leaned on one another while going through their respective divorces a year later and built a friendship. It quickly developed into a newfound romance amidst their heartbreaks, and the two have been together ever since.

Shelton and Stefani wed on July 3, 2021, on the groom's Tishomingo, Oklahoma ranch in front of 40 immediate family members and closest friends. Carson Daly officiated the wedding. Moreover, an insider revealed to People why the couple exchanged wedding vows in an intimate ceremony:

"[...] They didn't want a circus. [...] They are a family-oriented couple, and that's exactly what the wedding was about."

Friends of the newlyweds stated their nuptials were the exact representation of what they have built in their time together and that they share the same values:

"Their shared faith is very important. Having the wedding at home was a way for their families – and Gwen – to be as comfortable as possible."

The source added the "Nobody But You" singer desired for the duo's big day to be memorable for his bride and that his affection for her goes beyond words.

After only a week of marriage, Stefani and Shelton were reportedly thinking of expanding their family. The "Hollaback Girl" hitmaker, who is already a mom to three boys, whom she shares with former husband Gavin Rossdale, said she was yearning to have a daughter with her new spouse, according to a source:

"It's no secret that Gwen wants a daughter; she has spoken very publicly about it, and having a baby is something that she and Blake have discussed."

Although Shelton adores her kids, he is said to want to have his own "biological child." His wife also dotes on her boys but is looking forward to being a girl mom.

Naturally, age is a determining "factor" for the mother of three, who is currently in her early fifties. That said, the couple can explore their options to have their baby.

An insider revealed that the fashion designer desperately wants a girl child, which has "always" been her desire. Stefani believes having a daughter would make her family whole.

Devoting More Time to Family

Her husband is now planning on devoting more time to their family following his shocking news that he would be exiting "The Voice" in 2023. Shelton has been on the hit TV show for 12 years and 23 seasons and has admitted bowing out has been bittersweet.

After being busy "traveling and touring" amid their time together, Shelton explained in a cover story interview with People recently that he and his beautiful wife have reached a point whereby they are reassessing their life.

The esteemed TV star stunned fans when he announced his decision to leave the NBC show and revealed he had been contemplating it for several years. However, Shelton admitted that it was not an easy choice to make.

The popular television personality became a part of the show during its inception. It was a decade into his musical career at the time.

Shelton noted the reality show had had a significant impact on his success as an artist, and it did more for him individually than his contribution to it. He said he had "far exceeded" his goal in showbiz.

The award-winning singer has already shared his new venture with fans, a game show called "Barmageddon," - which he has co-produced with his dear friend, Daly. This is Shelton's first stint as a TV producer.

He explained that Daly was the perfect choice to collaborate with because of his ability to capture viewers' attention on-screen. Working with the TV host is also a learning curve for Shelton, who is determined to learn the ropes of TV production.

The duo's new show would see their celebrity friends, including Kane Brown and Elle King, among others – partake in over-the-top bar games. Notably, now that he has figured out his new focus once he officially exits "The Voice," Shelton said he is "open" to new opportunities but is not in a hurry to dive into anything else.

Instead, he wants to spend more time with his family. The doting stepdad and loving husband divulged he does not want to miss out on the kids' milestones.

Shelton said although he is not the children's birth father, it does not mean that he does not take the role he plays in their lives "seriously."

Stefani's sons also see Shelton as an "important" individual in their lives, he revealed. Whenever he misses something, they ask where he is, which breaks his heart. The proud parent said he made a fortune throughout his career, and one thing that cannot be bought is time, which he wants to have with the kids:

"I don't want any regrets."

Nowadays, Shelton is happier around his loved ones back home in Oklahoma. He said getting away from Hollywood to be with his family is his comfort zone, which makes him "happy and safe."

After marrying Stefani, the Favorite Country Male Artist Award winner said he felt "settled" with the California native. He said their marriage is "natural and normal" and that everything they do is with ease. Hence, now, Shelton is ready to slow down to allow "more family and personal life in."
