Gregg Allman's 7 Wives: Most Loved Him for Who They Thought He Was
Gregg Allman was a late American musician and singer best known for being part of the Allman Brothers Band. During his life, he tied the knot seven times.
Gregg Allman previously married seven times, one of which was to the famous pop star Cher. Allman was one of the most influential musicians of his time, but he was known for being quite a vulnerable lover.
In his memoir, "My Cross to Bear," Allman went into great detail not only about Cher but also about his other former wives, particularly the one who led him to God and the one who he found "crazy."

Shannon Williams Was with Gregg until His Death
Shannon Williams was Allman's last known partner, two decades his junior. According to International Business Times, Williams was only 24 years old when she became engaged to the 64-year-old musician in 2012.
Although their relationship raised a few eyebrows, Allman referred to Williams as his only true love. Allman claimed on "Piers Morgan Tonight" show that he didn't have a wife before Williams.
Allman said that Williams would not be his seventh wife but "wife number one." In the interview, he also stated that he was "really in love" with his much younger fiance.

But rumors circulated that the couple had broken off their engagement. However, Rolling Stone allegedly reported the opposite, as the couple was seen walking around New York City in the summer of 2016.
However, Allman passed away in 2017 as a result of complications from liver cancer. According to Michael Lehman, Allman's longtime friend and manager, the singer was surrounded by family and friends.
Following the musician's death, neither Allman's family nor Williams issued a statement. While it was unclear when Allman married Williams, the crooner's obituaries identified her as his wife. The couple had no children together.

Stacey Fountain Made Gregg Think of God
Allman's marriage to his sixth wife, Stacy Fountain, was his longest and most religious relationship. Allman stated that they had been together for "seven out-of-sight years." He added:
"Still, one of Stacey's strongest influences on me was to get me thinking about God."
While he admitted he wasn't the most religious, Fountain brought him to church, where attendees eventually asked for his autograph. Attending church became a regular occurrence, but the experience was "too much" for Allman.

The couple's marriage appears to be in trouble after Allman disagrees with Fountain's plans to meet several friends and families in Europe, where Allman had a scheduled tour.
Even after their disagreement, Allman said Fountain was nice and helped him pack his belongings before leaving. When Allman returned, he was surprised to find their house "cleaned out," with only one bag in the middle.
It appeared that Fountain had left Allman for good, but the latter interpreted the odd moment as something that provided him with "peace of mind."
Gregg Allman's 5th Wife Was from "Another Planet"
Danielle Galiana was Allman's fifth wife. Allman described her as a woman from "another planet." He admitted he had no idea why he decided to marry her, but he blamed it on a midlife crisis.
He met his future wife one evening while staying at a hotel because he had friends in town doing music gigs. He enjoyed spending time with Galiana, who looked beautiful in her dress. It made him realize how old he was.
Allman decided he wanted to settle down and start a relationship with another woman. He eventually married Galiana in 1984 but split in 1994, five years after their marriage. They didn't have any children together.
Gregg Thought Julie Bindas Was Crazy
Julie Bindas was Allman's fourth wife, whom he met at Castaways bar. Bindas, of Ukrainian descent, appears to be an adventurous woman because, according to Allman, she enjoyed riding motorcycles.
It didn't take long for Allman to fall head over heels in love with Bindas, who he later married in 1979. Their love didn't last, however. Bindas, who he described as "crazy," was an intimidating woman. They divorced in 1981. They share one daughter, Delilah Island.
Allman's fourth wife appears to have led a private life. She is now working as a freelancer in Seminole, Florida. According to her LinkedIn profile, Bindas is a scriptwriter and consultant. She is also a published author.

Gregg Allman's Most Public Marriage
Pop superstar Cher was Allman's third wife, and they both had a tumultuous and highly public relationship. Cher went through a messy divorce with her then-husband, Sonny Bono, when she met Allman in 1975.
Cher and Allman married in Las Vegas just three days after the divorce between Cher and Bono was finalized. After learning about Allman's drug abuse and feeling overwhelmed, Cher decided to call off their marriage.
Buth the couple's impending split got delayed when Cher was pregnant with their child, Elijah Blue Allman, who they welcomed in 1976. The pair collaborated with their music as they raised their child. However, they ultimately divorced in 1979.

Gregg Was Completely in Love with Janice Blair
Janice Blair was Allman's second wife, with whom he was completely in love. He met Blair for the first time while he was making his album "Laid Back."
After becoming attracted to Blair, Allman wasted no time expressing his admiration for her. Among his efforts to win her heart, Allman invited her on a dawn motorcycle ride, which she gladly accepted and thoroughly enjoyed.
They fell in love immediately, married in 1973, and lived in Allman's apartment. However, their marriage did not last, and Allman and Blair divorced in 1975. During their brief marriage, they had no children.

Gregg's Brother Didn't Like Shelly Winters
Shelley Winters was Allman's first wife, who he met in the summer of 1971 in San Antonio, Texas, and married shortly. While Allman loved Winters, his brother didn't.
Allman's brother was confused about why he married Winter because he seemed to think something was wrong with her. Allman eventually thought his brother's instinct was right about Winters.
He said his wife tried to change him, and their marriage turned into a "living hell." They divorced in 1972. The ex-couple shared one child, a son named Devon.
In 1982, Winters married her second husband, Duane Jefts, and they welcomed a daughter named Katy Lauren. Winters died in 2016, a year before Allman passed away.
All of the women had one thing in common: they loved Allman for who they thought he was.
Devon had a hard time coping with the deaths of his parents. Devon had known his mother his entire life, but he only met his father when he was a teen.
Devon was able to bond with his father before his death, mainly through music. Devon became a musician and band member for Honey Tribe and Royal Southern Brotherhood.
Even though his father had been known for his multiple marriages, Devon wanted to carry on his father's musical legacy. He said, "I just want to make sure that his music lives forever and is treated with respect and integrity."

Gregg Allman gave his heart to his former wives, and they reciprocated. All of the women had one thing in common: they loved Allman for who they thought he was.
As for Williams, the last woman he was romantically involved with, the details of her relationship with the late musician remain unknown partly because her name was not mentioned in Allman's memoir.
