Al Pacino's Ex Thanks Him for Making Her Mom of Twins at 49 & Says What She'll Cook for Their Christmas

Although the "Godfather" actor Al Pacino and his ex-wife, Beverly D'Angelo are no longer together, they still maintain an amicable relationship. After their divorce, they agreed to keep things friendly for the sake of their kids.

The two are co-parenting their two twins, Anton James Pacino and Olivia Pacino, and they've rekindled their old friendship in the process. They've decided to spend the holidays together as a family, with D'Angelo preparing a mouthwatering feast for her kids and ex-partner.

D'Angelo announced that she would be cooking a special turkey recipe for the family's Christmas celebrations. According to her, the meal originated in Italy, where her grandparents emigrated from.

D'Angelo even shared the recipe, saying she starts by lifting the skin off and packing it with a range of spices, including lemon and rosemary, kosher salt, brining, and red pepper. She then leaves it until the next day, when she wraps it in cloth with prosciutto and bakes it in the oven.

D'Angelo also revealed her respect for her ex-partner by saying he is a rare talent She is also a trained actress, but D'Angelo decided to take a step back from acting to focus on raising her two children.

D'Angelo and Pacino had an unconventional start to their relationship. When they met in 1990, the actress was still married to her ex-husband, the Italian duke Lorenzo Salviati. They had agreed that they could still see other people occasionally. However, they would always return to each other.

That said, things changed when she met Pacino. The actor thought the arrangement the Duke and D'Angelo had was "crazy." He also said he couldn't believe she was already married, since he knew she would be the mother of his children. Luckily for him, D'Angelo had fallen in love with him as well. She remembered:

"He went, 'Oh, that's ridiculous. Who thinks this is crazy, this perfect relationship? Who is this actor?' I said, 'Well, it's Al Pacino.' He goes, 'Al Pacino, he's fantastic. I love him. We divorce!'"

So, the two divorced but remained good friends, and D'Angelo started dating Pacino in 1997. They never planned on marrying, but they were deeply in love, and the actor suggested they should have children together. D'Angelo fell pregnant at 48, and she delivered the twins at the age of 49.

The actress initially imagined children only happened in a traditional family setting, but when Pacino proposed the idea, she knew it was what she wanted as well. Unfortunately, their relationship didn't last. When D'Angelo was 51, the two broke up, and she became a single parent.

The two started working on their relationship for the sake of their children, and they discovered they still enjoyed each other's company, even if they weren't romantically involved anymore. They also learned a lot from the ordeal.

D'Angelo remarked that the thing she realized most after her separation from Pacino is that acceptance is key after a breakup. By the end of their relationship, she knew there were some things about her partner she could not change, and she had to stop holding on.

Now, years after their breakup, D'Angelo is extraordinarily grateful for the time she had with Pacino. She said her kids provide her with endless joy, and gushed, "The greatest gift that Al ever gave me was to make me a mother."
