Sam Brinton's husband is Kevin Rieck, and they married after two years of being engaged. Since they started dating, they have kept their relationship relatively private. However, Sam Brinton once revealed that their husband likens them to Batman in a weird way.

Sam Brinton is an LGBTQ rights activist who grew up in Florida and Iowa. They identify as non-binary and already knew their sexuality in middle school.

They came out to their parents, Peggy Jo and Stephen Brinton, but were forced to go for therapy as their parents did not accept their sexual orientation.

Things worsened when they came out again to their Baptist missionary parents a second time while in college. Despite their difficulties, they accepted themselves and became the first non-binary person to serve the United States government.

The Biden administration employed Sam as a deputy assistant secretary at the Office of Nuclear Energy. Unfortunately, in December 2022, they were fired after multiple theft allegations. However, they got their dream job and found their love, husband Kevin Rieck.

Sam Brinton's Husband Is Hopelessly in Love with Them

There is no information on when Sam and their husband started dating, but they proposed to Kevin in 2017. On May 31, 2017, they shared the good news on Twitter. They tweeted:

"In case you hadn't heard: This #NuclearNerd got engaged! Kevin said YES!"

Two years after their engagement, they married. At their wedding, Sam's parents did not attend, but their sister Rachel showed up to support her brother.

After the wedding, Sam shared that their sister was the most important person that graced their occasion. They also said they were rebuilding their bonds as siblings.

Sam and Kevin lived in Rockville, Maryland, in 2022, and when they are not sharing pictures of themselves, the paparazzi are trying to catch a glimpse into their life.

Since getting the job at the Department of Energy, the press became more interested in their husband. In February 2022, Kevin addressed new fans on Facebook and wrote:

"PSA to the general public who have learned of my existence in recent days - Do yourself a favor: don't waste your time here. I am unapologetically in love with my husband."

In March 2022, the paparazzi captured them spending time together around their neighborhood. They dressed for comfort as they went grocery shopping and ran errands together.

A Few Facts about Kevin Rieck's Life

There is little information on Kevin's life as he remains a mystery. His social media pages are private, and fans will not find personal details as he has very few posts.

However, his LinkedIn page shows that he attended the University of South Florida in 2008 and graduated in 2013. The same year he gained admission, he started working at Staples as a professional Copy & Print Pro.

At the time of this publication, his profile shows that he has held the same job for over 14 years. Kevin is also interested in philanthropy and using his platform to ask for help.

For his birthday in 2020, he decided to raise funds on FaceBook for the nonprofit called The Trevor Project. The project aimed at providing a safe, positive, and supportive environment for LGBTQ youth.

As a teenager, Sam's parents refused to accept their sexuality and forced them to attend conversion therapy. When they got to college, their parents sent them out of the home, and they had to live with an uncle.

However, they persevered and have constantly worked with their husband to raise funds for other LGBTQ youths through The Trevor Project.

In 2018, Kevin and Sam raised $12,000 after partnering with comedian and actress Kathy Griffin. They shared the good news on Twitter and thanked her for being supportive.

Their activism which was different from their job, made their husband compare them to a superhero. In an interview, they said:

"My husband sometimes describes me as a weird kind of Batman."

Sam said they got the comparison because, during the day, they would work as activists, and at night they worked on nuclear waste. At both jobs, they are trying to save the world.

They are not the only ones to have been sure about their sexuality at a young age. Stevie Laine, Eminem's adopted daughter, came out as non-binary at 19.
