A Look inside Billy Magnussen and Meghann Fahy's Love Story

Both from strong acting backgrounds, actors Meghann Fahy and Billy Magnussen have captivated fans with their performances on the big screens. The pair presumably met while working on a Hallmark romance film over a decade ago, but their romance only began several years later.

Meghann Fahy is best known for her role in the five-season-long comedy-drama "The Bold Type" as the wife of an in-house attorney named Sutton Brady-Hunter. She most recently starred in the second season of "The White Lotus," playing the seemingly aloof yet calculative housewife, Daphne Sullivan.

Her former beau, the New York native Billy Magnussen, has also appeared in showstopper films, including 2018's "Game Night," 2019's "Aladdin," and 2021's "No Time To Die," starring the James Bond star Daniel Graig.

Fahy's characters in the shows mentioned above have love lives plagued by drama, but the same can't be said for her romantic links in real life. While she and Magnussen let their relationship go public, they still guarded its privacy with only a few social media glimpses now and then.

The Two Met Years before They Started Dating

Fahy and Magnussen presumably met when they appeared in the 2011 television movie "The Lost Valentine." It remains to be known if they had any history beforehand, but the joint appearances marked the beginning of an elusive relationship timeline.

However, it wasn't until 2017 that Fahy and Magnussen were romantically linked. They followed each other on social media, graced the red carpet as dates on rare occasions, and even collaborated in the 2018 season of "The Bold Type."

The year they reportedly started dating, Fahy sat down with Cosmopolitan and spoke briefly about dating a colleague. The actress noted that while office romance might be frowned upon by some, she didn't feel the same. One of her co-stars, Aubrey Plaza, dated and secretly married her colleague, director Jeff Baena.

In Fahy's experience of the world, she always considered the potential impact of someone's presence in her life, regardless of the circumstances in which she meets them. Still, in a work environment, she noted how tricky and risky romance might be, as she explained:

"It's complicated and tricky and in some circumstances can be really risky, but if you find somebody that you think is really special and worth exploring, love is always worth it, no matter what the risk."

Fahy and Magnussen Made Fans Worry about Their Relationship Status

In 2018, Fahy and Magnussen were indeed colleagues for a brief period on "The Bold Type." Magnussen was cast as Fahy's ex-lover, cameoing in only a few episodes. That same year, they appeared on the show's Twitter page sporting "I voted" stickers in an adorable selfie.

In May 2020, Magnussen shared a snap of himself carrying a smiling Fahy, seemingly on a road trip in Death Valley, California. The previous month, the actor posted a sweet birthday tribute for his beau alongside a lovely photo of them cuddling in a field of flowers.

As of this writing, the posts remain on Magnussen's Instagram page. However, the rareness of the posts raised some concerns for fans at some points. In 2019, a fan tweeted an inquiry about whether Fahy and Magnussen were still together.

Another asked the same question in July 2020 after seeing Magnussen's cameo in another episode of "The Bold Type." While some replied, saying the lovers were still dating at the time, a fan was dumbfounded by the supposed news of their breakup earlier this year.

The Couple Seems to Have Parted Ways

Fahy – who starred with Jennifer Coolidge, Leo Woodall, and Victoria Chlebowski's husband Michael Imperioli, in "The White Lotus" – and Magnussen last graced the red carpet as a couple in 2020, and they've unfollowed each other on social media.

The former lovers seem to have parted ways quietly, although neither made any formal announcement. As of recent, Fahy has been romantically linked with her co-star, Woodall, as the pair has been seen spending time together and actively commenting on each other's posts. Still, they have yet to confirm or deny the speculation.
