Jakobi Wilburn Was Recognized as Future's Son After a DNA Test

Jakobi Willburn is an Atlanta, Georgia, rapper who has experienced issues regarding acceptance from his father early on. Being the first son of a globally famous rapper is no sweat for the kid whose music streams are up by hundreds of thousands. Safe to say his future looks bright.

Jakobi's father is the superstar rapper, Future, whose real name is Nayvadius DeMun Cash. The superstar did not instantly embrace the first child he had, with his ex-girlfriend from the early 2000s, Jessica Smith.

This is compounded by the fact that his mother, Jessica, has sued Future for failing to keep up with the child support agreement, and the mother added that the rapper had neglected his son.

Previous court proceedings that involved Jessica and Future were to determine if the rapper was the boy's father. Jessica brought forward a DNA test proving that the odds of Jakobi being Future's son were 99.9%. This discovery entitled Jakobi's mother to $1,662.00 monthly child support fees.

Jakobi Wilburn Followed in His Father's Footsteps

Jakobi is also known as King Kobi when he's rhyming—much like his acclaimed musician father. His 15 videos on Youtube have accumulated over 144,000 streams. King Kobi is an alias through which Jakobi exposes his inherited talents and addresses his issues, such as the gun charges against him.

XXXTentacion, Frank Ocean, and Pharrell Williams inspire Jakobi. The 20-year-old is confident that he will be an inspiration to many, just like the legends who have inspired him. Rappers are very influential, especially to their kids, like 50 Cent, who also has a child who followed in his footsteps.

Jakobi's encounter with the law based on gun charges seriously threatened the up-and-coming artist's career. The gun in question had scratched off serial numbers—a criminal offense that piled on to charges of gang activity and trespassing, served by a state that considers 17-year-olds as adults, and he was seventeen at the time.

The defendant enlisted himself as indigent. His father, who has raked in millions of dollars in revenue, did not consider his son attending court with a state advocate as an option. He intervened by paying for high-profile lawyers in Georgia, resulting in the charges being dropped.

Jakobi Is the Eldest among Future's Children

After Jakobi was born, Future went on to have six additional children. In 2019, the rapper took the mask off of his personal life, revealing his complex family and offspring in his Apple Music documentary, "The WIZRD."

Future had his first daughter, Londyn Willburn, on March 19, 2009. She was the rapper's second child and only child with India J. After breaking up with India, Future got into a relationship with Brittni Mealy, and together they welcomed Prince Willburn on December 6, 2013.
